An upscale restaurant said to be one of the best for Greek cuisine in Mexico. Chef Apostolis creates the extensive menu of dishes which include Linguini a la Fellini, Cordero en vino tinto, Camarones estilo Mykonos and the paired side dishes like Dolmadaquia to, Spanakopita, a variety of salads, soups and appetizers. The restaurant also serves a selection of desserts to top of the meal. Prices are in line or a bit lower than similar type restaurants in the tourist areas. Definitely a place to enjoy an authentic Greek meal prepared to perfection and spend a relaxing evening. 12/19/19 8:00 PM It was the perfect evening to sit out on the patio with the December temperature in the mid seventies. We started with a bottle of Cinta da Conegliano Cuvee Casnova and went straight to the dinner menu bypassing appetizers, salads and soups. Two friends ordered the Mahi Mahi which was simply grilled with sea salt and olive oil and then served with a tangy Ladolemeono sauce, that was served with a side of steamed red beats. Another friend ordered the rack of lamb sharing a plate with a serving of mashed potatoes and a gravy, and I ordered just a Greek salad. Everyone loved their meal, especially the two ordering the fish. Our waiter, Paolo did an excellent job in service but more so in entertaining everyone. The rest of the staff were extremely pleasant and always running around working and checking on guests to see if anything was needed. I highly recommend Mykonos. Important though it is the restaurant UPSTAIRS, not on the first floor where another restaurant isl located. Please give Mykonos a go if you haven't been before. A dinner for four with wine will run...
Read moreSadly, our group had a bad experience. We were 10. Large groups can be a challenge. I get that. I have worked the restaurant industry and know it well. They didn’t want to divide us by couples for billing as it was too much of a challenge, they made people change seats so that they were with their spouse (easier for billing), they were very slow and didn’t want to accept a request for an appetizer until all drinks were taken care of… they mixed up two meals and made the two people eating them trade, one person commented that her chicken was very dry and the response from the waiter was “well, you won’t get salmonella!”, the bills were a mess. Anyhow, the servers were nice but just very confused and disorganized. It isn’t hard to keep separate lives of paper for couples and their orders!
The food was decent. I have eaten much Greek food in my time and I was a bit disappointed in the tzatziki (very runny and not much garlic), the retsina, the horiatiki salad (Greek with no lettuce)…
Sadly, the tension amongst our group became very evident and it was the service and hassles that created this unnecessarily, especially as they made people change seats.
I certainly hope that others will have a better experience than we did. The owner is lovely. I met him a few days earlier when the...
Read moreMy wife and I loved Mykonos so much! She is Mexican, and this is now her favorite restaurant in Puerto Vallarta, hands down. When we arrived, we tried the non-alcoholic drinks made from passion fruit and from cucumber, and they were both amazingly delicious and refreshing. We started with the black olive tapenade and pita bread for an appetizer, and we both loved it, even though I usually don't like olives. After that, the Greek salad we shared was the tastiest we've ever had, and our main courses were just incredible. I had the beef shishkebab and she had the Mykonos shrimp. Mine was the best, most tender beef I have ever enjoyed, and it was served with a feta cheese dip that was outrageously good. Her shrimp, covered with tomato sauce, were likewise fantastic, and both plates were served with rice that we just could not get enough of, it was so delicious. We finished off with a Greek flan with a name I can't pronounce for dessert, which I enjoyed. Chef Apostolis is amazing at what he does, and all the restaurant staff are friendly and attentive. We will be back for more as...
