**BE AWARE Tourist trap: Food.. Okay. Some dishes were decent, but mostly just whatever. Most importantly, they are not honest about the bill. We were a large group, so we ordered a lot of items, and it was a good thing we checked the bill. I added everything up, and the math didn't match. Our bill was $5010 peso and when I added everything up total came out to be $4310?? Then the waiter rushed over and said he added the 15% tip... lol you can do your math... and how can you add the tip without informing people? Also, it's not 15%.. we can do the math.. I would avoid this place.
I now need to provide the full story of our experiences: Tipping is not an issue, especially for people who work hard and provide good services. But dishonestly is not acceptable.
We ordered 3 different soups: Fish, seafood & crab I ordered the fish, and the waiter gave me the soup and told me it was pescado, which I confirmed with our waiter twice before I accepted the soup. I added the onions and was about to drink my soup when the other waiter said that's not your soup; that's crab soup, which was my brother-in-law's order, but my brother-in-law didn't want the onions in there, so we made them took it back to soup since it was their mistake at first. Our bill came: they charged 2 crab soups, and we told them that's not right, and at first, they refused to take off from the bill. We had to keep explaining to them that it was their mistake, then finally, the waiter took the bill back and said they had taken it off. My mom saw the charge, and it was the same amount, so then I started to get suspicious and added up all the items to find out they overcharged, and they never mentioned TIP was INCLUDED! We started to question, and then they said we were in a tourist area, so they added 15%, but again, the correct amount of our bill should be 4310 pesos, but they charged us 5010 pesos. How in the world 4310x 15% of tip = 5010?? Again, I am sure you all can do the...
Read moreIf you're in the mood for a seafood feast with a Mexican twist, look no further than this fantastic restaurant! From the moment we walked in, we were greeted by friendly staff who were eager to help us navigate the menu and offer recommendations.
The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, with bright colors and lively music adding to the festive vibe. But the star of the show was the food. The menu featured a wide variety of seafood dishes, from traditional ceviche to shrimp tacos to octopus in garlic sauce.
But what really set this restaurant apart was the service. Our waiter was knowledgeable about the menu, attentive to our needs, and genuinely friendly. He checked on us regularly without being intrusive, and made sure that we had everything we needed to enjoy our meal.
Overall, this Mexican seafood restaurant was a true gem. The food was delicious, the service was excellent, and the atmosphere was lively and fun. If you're a seafood lover looking for a new twist on your favorite dishes, this restaurant is...
Read moreMy girlfriend and I stopped by Santos Marisco a few days ago. The food itself was just alright—not bad, but nothing memorable. We ordered two plates, each around $15 USD, so not a huge bill.
What really left a bad taste in our mouths was what happened at the end. We noticed something wasn’t adding up on the receipt, and it turns out they quietly added a 20% tip without telling us. No heads-up, no mention from the waiter, just slipped it in. The whole thing felt rushed and shady—like they were trying to take advantage of tourists. Sadly, I’ve seen other people mention the same thing in reviews, so it doesn’t seem like a one-time mistake.
To make it worse, the service didn’t even justify a big tip. It’s frustrating to feel like we were profiled just because we “looked like we had money.”
It’s a shame, because I really wanted to enjoy this place. But that kind of dishonesty ruins the whole experience. I wouldn’t recommend it unless you’re okay with being upcharged...
