Birriería El Tío Toño — Restaurant in Jalisco

We visited Birriera el Tio Toño today while vacationing in PV. While we are staying north of Malecon, I heard that it had the best birria in the city, so we made the trip south. Let me tell you, we did not regret it. Birriera el Tio Toño is where many local Mexicans go to grab authentic beef and lamb birria, so we were a little nervous to arrive as the only Americans. However, from the moment we sat down, our server Hector was incredibly kind and willing to help us through the process with great English. We gave him ultimate freedom to bring us what he thought was best, which ended up being quesabirria con todo and aqua fresca. Everything was super fresh, with cilantra straight from the plant, and super authentic. It was also very affordable with a meal for four totaling 299 pesos (about $15 USD). Found this place online and so glad we did. Have been wanting to try this place and omg it was delicious! Owner came and personally talked to us introduced his self...taste amazing...environment amazing...location was great...husband got tacos dorados...fire...parents and I got birria plate and damn it was delicious great flavor and the chivo meat was so soft...hand made tortillas cant go wrong! Different salsas (actually had some spice to them) Dad said it reminded him of back home! It was quite...calm...and relaxing place to eat...spacious with lots of seating...surrounding area was good lots of locals and foreigners! If you want good customer service, good food and great atmosphere this is definitely a place you need to try...so please come check this spot out because I promise...

BEST BIRRIA IN PUERTO VALLARTA (according to our Uber Driver and now us) BEST FLAN IN MEXICO This restaurant is legit! They offer both beef and goat birria (you choose) and it is super flavorful and delicious. You can get tacos either regular or fried (dorado) and you can order their quesabirria in the regular 20cm size or Chica as a regular sized Taco. We ordered both versions but sadly ate the quesabirria before we took pics. We ordered another taco so we were able to take a photo. Flan is one of my favorite deserts and I have eaten it all over the US and Mexico - this is truly THE BEST FLAN I have ever eaten - firm, smooth and eggy with hints of vanilla and carmel.
