I had lunch here yesterday for the first time, myself, my husband and two friends from Canada. My husband is a local, and when we came into the restaurant, the hostess wasn't wearing a mask. He politely asked her to put one on, in Spanish, and she was annoyed & rude in response, and that bad attitude continued for the duration of our (overpriced and underwhelming) lunch. They were not busy, and restaurants have been suffering from COVID, so you'd sort of think the staff would be keen to please. We asked for a drink list, which the menu tells you to do, and she answered in annoyance that they don't have one, and I gently said I was just doing what the menu asked of us, and she didn't like that. The food was over-priced for what it is, and when my husband's fajitas were arriving, she was about to douse them in tequila, and he does not drink, did not ask for, and was not advised about. When he asked her not to, she was again annoyed and said it was a traditional custom. Only, he's Mexican and pretty well-aware of customs. I wish it was a good experience, particularly as I suggested the Garden location having had great experiences at the Los Muertos one, but our friends were staying downtown so I thought this would be easiest. COVID is still very much a thing, and if you are front of house at a restaurant, which advertises a 5% discount on your bill if you review them on XYZ, you'd think they would care at least about the optics of customer service and health regulations. The location was beautiful, that is the only positive...

Food and the service was beyond believe in our particular experience. A very simple order, eggs & bacon with toast & jam, a standard at most restaurants. Eggs were ordered over-easy, bacon well done, we repeated twice just to make sure. Eggs arrived visibly rock-hard. We calmly, politely asked for our order to be replaced.
Another twenty minutes later our new order arrived. Humorously our eggs were soft as their had been cut up in the center and looked pretty pathetic but we said ok, lets just get this over with. Then we found that the entire breakfast was ice cold, eggs, bacon, toast, hash-browns drenched in some sort of animal fat. And it was totally disgusting. It seemed to us that all the breakfast items are made ahead of time and served as needed,
Then comes the good part.. our bill has extra charges on it for items we could not explain. After finally flagging down our waiter he tells us that the bacon with our eggs & bacon is actually an extra.
Ok then..so we asked to review the menu for confirmation. Waiter said yes I'll be right back..he never showed. We took our bill to three more staff at their front desk before they agreed to correct our bill but in the process, making us feel they were doing us some kind of favour!
This is a big chain restaurant with huge problems...
Read moreWhat a perfect hidden gem! Not only is this place stunning with its beautiful art, the service, drinks and food is the best I have had this whole trip. The lady who greeted us could speak perfect English, better than any staff member at our resort. She gave us a tour of the garden, provided us with cold towels in ice (the smell was so so so lovely) and a fan to cool us off. You can see that she really loves this place with how passionately she shows you around. Everyone here makes you feel like family. I was very impressed with my strawberry daiquiri.
This is the place to eat. They start you off with freshly made chips and dip. The green one…OMG soooooo goooood! We got the Mahi Mahi and the fish tacos. Fresh, delicious, a 100% MUST HAVE. 10 star food here!
If this place was a hotel, I would stay here every time I came to Mexico.
Best restaurant I can confidently say I have ever been to!
They have a sassy parrot on sight, her name is Lola. 25 years old and still looking young. You can see she is well taken care of here and is very loved. We came at lunch time, unfortunately I missed out on the candles they light when it gets dark. I will have to come back for dinner later to see how the night life brings this place alive.
Love love...
