I booked this place on a third party website and afterwards I seen the reviews on trip advisor and was a little scared of what I had gotten myself into.||Needless to say, I didn’t need to worry at all. We had no issues with self check-in. I did not meet the hosts but they sorted out our house keeping in a timely manner and we could contact them over WhatsApp. They even stored our bags after we checked out which was helpful as we did not have a flight until late afternoon.||This place was perfect for our needs. The room was cute and cosy. I loved all the bright colours and the bedding and room was clean enough and comfortable. Yes, the room was small but I had checked this online first so I knew this already. It was big enough for us as a couple who were out exploring most of the day.||The balcony was great for going out and people watching. I appreciated that we could also see the sea. The rooftop was also a great place to go and chill and we would often use this to eat our dinner and have a drink if we were too exhausted to go back out to the city.||The area is pretty noisy so if you are overly sensitive to sound then I guess I wouldn’t recommend it but if you love being right in the action of it all and close to lots of eateries and bars, then it is totally for you. For us personally, once the windows were closed, it was enough to muffle the sounds so we could sleep after a busy day.||I have written this review for other travellers who have booked this and seen the previous bad reviews. I have no idea what went wrong with those stays but for us we didn’t encounter any bumps in the road so I am sure you will have a lovely stay too. If you are wanting a luxury experience then book an all inclusive resort near by, if you just want somewhere affordable and comfortable to lay your head and explore the city, then this is more...
Read moreThe property is located right in the center of everything! You have lots of options around for food, 24hour convenient stores, Malecón seaside close by. The room was tiny but it had everything I needed! Bed was super comfortable, AC was effective, lighting was okay, balcony was great, has a common kitchen area where you can store your water and food. No fridge in your room because this is a guest house not a hotel. Property manager Andrea was super courteous. You don’t need to have access to vehicles as buses, taxis and uber are readily available. Casa Mirador is 10mins-15mins away by walk. Location is safe and has many options for cafes, restaurants and breakfast. Mix of both locals and tourists so you really get the best of both worlds! Pharmacies around for you to buy your toothpaste. Host provides you with shampoo and towels. Also saw sunscreen, and other women’s hygiene products provided by the property in the common area which was nice :) some rooms have balcony and some don’t so make sure you check which room you are getting. Wifi was good, tv had YouTube etc available.
Property is clean and tidy, rooftop has ample sitting and you can see the sea and the mountains, plumbing is a bit dated but cannot complain as the price you pay is 100% value for money! There is no wardrobe for your clothes, just hangers by the side of the bed.
Would 100% return again. Thank you for...
Read moreOk-ish for the price and a short trip, location is good but with drawbacks. Do not recommend for 2 people more than a few days..
Stayed 11 days. There are about 15 rooms and pictures are amalgamated, some rooms doesn't have a balcony.so pay a lot of attention when selecting. Rooms are very small, no place for a check in luggage, no closet or dresser. You are suppose to hang your closes above night lamp. Some rooms are very noisy. Host supplies ear plugs that might help. Floor is uneven and a lot of stairs with no elevator.
Hot water is tricky, you need to open the faucet to max and wait until hot water comes. If is not open to max you may wait forever. After a few days of cold showers I discovered this, asked and host had no idea how to fix it.
Very small kitchenette, had to buy my own teaspoons and a non serrated knife to be able to cut a mango. All kitchen items are plastic or metal pretty worn out,. There is a mini-fridge shared with multiple rooms that is definitely not enough so you need to do daily trips for food. No coffee or tea provided.
My wife asked if we can put the 2 big plastic wire chairs on the common terrace to make room for the check-in luggage and host considered this unacceptable and described us as a real headache guests. Make sure you don't disturb the host too much cause you will get...
