We were in line for Panadería la Rosetta and a server told us we could follow her for seating and it turns out it was a server from this place but she says they served the same things and were sister restaurants. The place was cute. We ordered coffee and pan dulce and that was okay. However, we both ordered a breakfast dish that said huevos revueltos with asparagus and huevos revueltos una green sauce which are scrambled eggs as the name of the dish indicated but we got sunny side up and my sister who couldn’t eat any raw eggs at this time told the waiter that the dish name said scrambled eggs and he said we didn’t specified how we wanted our eggs (he didn’t ask either). He also forgot to bring her a yogurt she ordered so we had to remind him. I ate half my egg dish because it was salty and not particularly good. The asparagus were okay but the eggs and cheese were salty and lacked any other flavor. My sister couldn’t eat hers so she had ordered just an individual egg since we needed to eat for a long day ahead. Her other dish was untouched because it was not prepared correctly and due to a condition she can’t have raw eggs. We were still charged for everything, the untouched dish and the extra egg. Very disappointed at how the waiter handled the situation. I still left a tip because we’re that type of people but really after being charged for a wrong order that was clearly not to our satisfaction I would never come back or recommend this place. We regretted leaving the line from the panadería. We would have been better off with just pan...
Read moreThe place is interesting. As you walk up to the establishment it seems like a hole in the wall with a fancy green sign, but as you go up the stairs you realize that it’s actually a pretty cool place. Dimly lit and kinda fancy, the roof is covered in vines and there is a big bar towards the back. The service was fantastic and the Gentlmen who helped us was kind and funny. The pizza here is top notch and probably one of the best places to get a pizza in Mexico City the dough is awesome. We got the prosciutto pizza and it was fresh and delicious, the arugula was fantastic. The salad was also good though I didn’t love the dressing. The pasta however was another story. Watery and soggy and pretty cold, the pork they used was undercooked and pretty chewy. When I asked to return the plate the service immediately changed and the vibes got pretty low. The waiter was upset and when we got the bill the pasta was still there. Pretty upsetting would...
Read moreThe bad or middling reviews on this place are confusing. Maybe it took them some time to hit their stride or something, but this was SOLID across the board.
Food: The pizza itself is a unique style, like somewhere halfway between a new york and neopolitan style. Crispy and foldable but very light and pillowy. It's cooked in a dope black wood fired oven at 680-700F which, again, is sort of halfway between the two styles. It's its own thing. $8-$13 USD per pie. It's great.
Staff: Attentive, kind, buzzing around the place constantly moving. The pizziolos were slanging pies with tons of technique and the sushi bar style bar seating up front was a really unique and cool way to enjoy pizza.
Ambience: it's cool without trying hard. Great playlist, lots of wood, plants, matte black powder coat mixed with clean white tiles. It's masculine but very approachable.
10/10 will...
