Cantinita Pop — Restaurant in Mexico City

Amazing deal for the daily special (see photo of daily special board). We thought that it was your choice of plates but really it was a three course meal. The wine suggestion to pair with the food (also on the specials board in the photo) was fantastic. Salsa and chips were a nice addition to the meal, and no appetizer needed. We had to bring some food back to our AirBnB because we didn’t know it was so much food, and that’s fine with us because it was so good. Prices were fine for what they served us. Desert and coffee also included and fantastic. I’m Italian and the pasta was like something you could find in Tuscany. And the shrimp tacos were the best we’ve had in Mexico so far. Probably the best meal we had in CDMX. Cozy restaurant in a quiet neighborhood street with very creative food. The hauzontal croquettes were my wife’s favorite. We both love the shrimp in tomato sauce with oregano and the sweetbreads were outstanding being my favorite. Wait- the soft shell crab taquito was so good.
