CASA REBOLLAR — Restaurant in Mexico City

I always feel so guilty when I eat American (USA) food at a Mexican restaurant, but Casa Rebollar has only itself to blame for making one of the most delicious hamburgers I've ever tasted. The mix of spices is so savory, that I haven't asked for ketchup or mustard either time I've eaten there. Everything there is made with fresh, healthy ingredients. We always order a licuado with creative ingredients to accompany our American indulgence. The turkey sandwich was my only disappointment as I was hoping for a chicken breast and not deli slices, but everything else has been exceptional! Who thought that putting a top half of a bun that was smaller than the burger, cheese and guacamole was a good idea? Obviously, someone in charge here. One bite and the three ingredients slid right out of the bun. Oh, and you had better like spinach. It's everywhere on the plate. Lots of it. 😂

But, don't think that the bun issue is unique to this restaurant. Using insufficient hamburger buns has been a long-term epidemic across Mexico. And yet, change creeps along at a snail's pace. 🐌

Charly was our waiter 3 of the 4 times we visited. Very good food. Very unique. Location is small so service can be slower with one Chef cooking for all. Arrive too early, they may not have everything available. Monday's they do prep, so not all items available. Coffee made to order, drink menu is limited.
