Cancino San Miguel — Restaurant in Mexico City

Beautiful location and dishes look beautiful picture worthy, but that’s it. My experience 1: slow service, it was probably 1/4 occupied. Lots of waiters standing around playing on phone or talking with each other playing around, but took forever to make eye contact with any of the waiters to order. Finally ordered pancakes for us two to split and two enchilada plates. 20 minutes after ordering we got the pancakes ( more on those pancakes in a minute) only ate 1/4 pancake a few bites then waited and waited for our meal. Waitress though we had finished due to the long time we had been sitting there without touching the awful pancakes that she came and cleaned up! Removed silverware until I informed her that in fact we had still not received our meal. 2: Food quality, ordered orange juice and received the most watered down juice I have ever had! Water with a splash of juice, could have just told me that they are out of juice and I would have ordered something different. Pancakes. Very very thick pancakes the driest pancakes I have ever had fell apart. Came with KARO syrup the cheapest syrup I have ever had. We both did not like the pancakes The Swiss enchiladas where ok not cold Kitchen was not busy and except for the pancakes, what we ordered is mostly precooked or if made to order ingredients are precooked and only need to be put together and warmed up. We had view of kitchen and could see crew and waiters chatting and using phones.

I will not be returning to this location for breakfast or brunch. Beautiful place, but sadly terrible service and low...

Very good food, we like this place a lot. Cozy place, friendly staff (except for one woman that worked there, not sure if she works there still, but it’s a very masculine, without manners woman, she would push you if she need to pass where you stand and would talk very getto to my husband. For instance we would pay for a take out at a cashier and she would just push us aside because she needed to be there to, so she basically pushed us to stand where we were standing and also other time when we were walking to our table she wanted to pass us ( not sure why because there were no other clients) so again she just pushed us aside, like some rude people do on the street😐. And when my husband asked for a bill she would response in a very getto way, like she’s talking to someone on the street.) but we only didn’t like this woman and sure didn’t other costumers because they would also look surprised by her way of doing, which was in some way stressful.) it’s been at least 2 months since we eat there, since we got uncomfortable we just order a take away, so I’m not sure if this woman even works there at this moment. it was a woman around 28-38 years old, she was quite fluffy and she seemed always stress and rushed.) I’ll update the comment after eating there again. Aside of this, everything is great about this place. The pizzas, quinoa croquettes, gnocchi, potato’s with truffle, we love it. Wow, where to start? We arrived at 3:30 pm for lunch, and were directed to sit at a table near the kitchen window. There were at least 10 waitstaff walking around, no wait list, and a few empty tables. A waiter took our order, and left. Regardless of the fact that the restaurant wasn't busy and we were seated in the very center of the venue, it took 20 minutes for someone to bring us our drink order, and only after we asked about the status. Only then did the waitstaff put in our food order, because the original waiter had forgotten to do so! At that point, I was shocked and began taking notice of the 10+ waitstaff and their behavior, they were just walking aimlessly around, and looking at their cell phones. This behavior continued throughout the 2.5 hours we were there (they were extremely slow to deliver our appetizer, main courses, second drinks, and even the check, then to return with the credit card terminal). Honestly the experience was so bad, there's no way I would ever suggest any friend to go there. The food flavor was nice, but honestly, why should we wait so long for it?
