The way I ended up there is a long story but basically a good reminder that sometimes, just go with the flow. Say yes to invitations your recluse self would normally politely decline. All this to say Cafevera is an amazing café, with amazing coffee (Mocha ❤️) amazing food (try the orange cake/bread 🍞❤️), and amazing people. It has a small community feel in a beautiful neighborhood where everyone is friendly and seem to know each other, and for a while you forget you're in one of the largest city in the world. The walls are lined up with beautiful black & white portraits of their customers. Also do yourself a favor and buy a jar of marmalade from Joli-Joli. And if you have a chance to try kombucha, do it! My photo of the shop turned out blurry, so until I can take another one, enjoy the picture of my new favorite marmalade. I hear the crêpes are amazing...that's another very good reason to go back, even if I don't live close. They are very dog friendly 🫶🏼🐶, and they have a book exchange 📚🤓

We came up on this lovely neighborhood café on our walk Chapultepec. The owner, Poncho, welcomed us in and David, behind the counter, took our order. My kids loved the Nutella crêpes with a fresh sliced banana. I enjoyed a generous, colorful fresh salad with sliced turkey. The coffee and cappuccinos were quite delicious and pulled expertly! They have a bookshelf of games and books and we enjoyed a fun game of chess while we finished our meals in the outdoor veranda. My favorite details: the Pan de Muerto, only offered this month, and the the walls of the cafe, lined by beautiful portraits of residents of the neighborhood, which were photographed by the owner’s partner. We will definitely come back to this sweet, chill local café again!

Great coffee shots, tasty pastries and crepes. If you have time just for a short break this San Miguel spot is a must. Have espresso, cappuccino, cheese-ham crepe. Everything’s great. Service fast, friendly and very polite (the staff love their job and always share a great conversation experience). Credit/Debit cards and Cash accepted. Dog-friendly :)

I was really looking forward to trying the matcha here, but unfortunately it was a disappointing experience. The matcha was full of undissolved clumps, which made it difficult to enjoy. It seemed like it hadn’t been properly whisked—most likely just stirred with a spoon rather than using a traditional matcha whisk or even a simple frother. It ended up tasting gritty and uneven. For a place that serves specialty drinks like matcha, I expected a bit more care in the preparation. Hopefully they improve their method...
