Chaotianmen Hotpot — Restaurant in Mexico City

We had high expectations from this restaurant. From the outside, it looks very well decorated and very authentic. The food is okay. To be honest, the soup ( we ordered the mala broth, mushroom broth and the tomato broth) and they were all very bland. The mala broth was just over powered by spice. The tomato broth and the mushroom broth was bland and basically useless.

The food is very expensive. There are no prices for the drinks. The dipping sauce, you need to make your own. If you do not know how to cook, you will not know how to make a good sauce because you won’t know what ingredients to put in/mix with what to make the flavors harmonize. There should be a guide for those who are new to the experience.

I have lived in China for a while and I was missing authentic Chinese hot pot. This place is very good, the food is ultra fresh and you will have a complete immersion in this traditional Chinese cuisine.

El lugar es increíble y la decoración sorprendente. Sin embargo, la comida decepciona. Cada plato que ordenamos estaba incomible de picoso, las cantidades muy escasas y con un sabor que deja mucho que desear. Es horrible pensar que una barra de postres estén gelatinas Gary y yogurt de alpura.... parece una burla!!! Cabe mencionar que el aire era demasiado frío y no se puede estar a gusto por el frío que hace. En resumen, no sólo se va a vivir una experiencia, sino también a disfrutar de los alimentos. Y ni una ni otra opción. Por último, el total del costo por sabores tan pobres y una comida que al final me enfermó del estómago. Si no lo sabían la propina que es un pago forzoso ni siquiera va para los meseros, además de que la cuenta está en Chino. Esto amerita una llamada y visita de la Profeco, ya que sus estrategias para cobrar de más, es ilegal. Es decepcionante para la zona.
