Wow. Touring a new country for food can be both an exhilarating and daunting process. You never know what you’re going to get. Some dishes are good, some are bad, and some are great. So when you come across a dish that is spectacular it really makes an impact. I was blessed to have found such a dish in the commercial district in Polanco at Pecorino Kosher.
The Mushroom Alfredo fettuccine was out of this world. The Alfredo sauce was the perfect combination of flavor, creaminess, and lightness. The dish perfectly complimented itself.
We then ordered an individual margarita pie and although it didn’t compared to the Mushroom Alfredo pasta the tomatoes were perfectly cooked and had a sweet and zesty taste. Albeit, the dish did feel like it was missing something.
We then ordered a appetizer, a fried tortilla dressed with spicy Mayo and cooked tuna with a slice of avocado as a topping. The tortilla crunch was brilliant. The tuna was slightly over cooked for our preference. But we learned that this style of cooked-fish is in accordance with Mexican culture.
