The restaurant looks nice and all but don’t be fooled by these reviews nor the view.
First, we ordered 1 tuna toast, ceviche, rib eye tacos, two margaritas, grilled picanha, and chicken Milanese. The guy looked at my partner and said are you sure?? That’s a lot of food you’re not going to finish that.
And I’m like what the hell does it matter if we can finish it or not? We literally didn’t eat all day because we’ve been out and about?! What kind of back handed comment is that?
We insisted that we wanted that food and so he placed the order. A few minutes later, he comes back and says the kitchen can’t cook the picanha because it’s going to take 30 minutes to defrost and cook. So we cancelled it. We later flagged one of the waiters to cancel one of the sides and he was PERPLEXED as to why we were cancelling. We said “well the other waiter said the picanha will take too long so we want to cancel the side that we wanted it with”.
The manager seemed frustrated but whatever.
Now the food, the tacos, ceviche, tuna toast, and chicken Milanese. Ceviche was a 8/10. Tuna toast a 7/10. Tacos were a 5/10 for the price we paid for it. Honestly, we could’ve had tacos down the street from our hotel and they would’ve been 2x cheaper and 100x better. And the chicken Milanese was a 6/10.
PLUS they charged us an equivalent of 10 USD of fries that were plain and incredibly small serving??? ALSO the chicken Milanese COMES with French fries so why were charged an extra 10$ USD of fries I would never understand.
Now the drinks were really good. The people around us only ordered drinks so that should’ve been the first clue to not get food.
And the bill for the terrible service and the food was (drum roll) $2,300 MXN?!? BTW we ordered EVERYTHING in Spanish so we really don’t understand what happened. We have ordered Spanish everywhere else in the city.
I am incredibly frustrated and disappointed. I’m am surprised that they have such high ratings for sub par food and TERRIBLE service.
And listen, I am the kind of person who will pay money for good food. I just came from Vancouver and HAPPILY paid 300$ for A5 Wagyu. I went to a taco stand last night and the food and people were nice that I even paid the tables food next to us. So no, I’m not stingy. I am more than happy to tip very well and pay stupid money for really good food but this WASNT IT. Do not waste your time, energy, nor finances...
Read moreMy visit to Loma Linda restaurant was primarily driven by the desire to enjoy its renowned magnificent views. However, I must admit that the overall dining experience left something to be desired.
First and foremost, the drinks and seafood options failed to meet our expectations. The cocktails lacked the flair and flavor we were hoping for, and the seafood dishes didn't quite live up to their reputation. The seafood, in particular, left us wanting more in taste and freshness.
On a brighter note, the steak was a saving grace and undoubtedly the highlight of our dinner. It boasted a delicious flavor and impressive quality, earning it a solid seven out of ten on the taste and quality scale.
In summary, while the breathtaking views certainly added to the ambiance of Loma Linda restaurant, the underwhelming drinks and seafood were a bit of a letdown. The standout steak, however, did salvage our dining experience to some extent. If you're primarily seeking stunning vistas and are willing to compromise on some aspects of the cuisine, Loma Linda might still be...
Read moreNot all that glitters is gold - went for dinner and while the interior design is superb, the atmosphere is destroyed by the omnipresent screens showing sport events. The meat was good but the ceviche was simply disgusting. The fish tasted old and it wasn’t seasoned at all rather than with horseradish (yuck). The sides - in a rather poor attempt too - try to imitate European cuisine but fail (some school canteens there serve better mashed potatoes). The kids food and entertainment was great though and the only food with a reasonable and well justified price. The service was okay, we were asked for allergies at the start but that was pretty pointless as it wasn’t considered at all. Staff seemed not to be trained on allergies and overwhelmed, so I would not recommend the place for anyone with allergies. For this price category, I was pretty disappointed, there are lower price restaurants offering better...
