Vapiano — Restaurant in Mexico City

So used to go there years ago with my husband and loved it. Came back to Mexico for vacations and thought of going back there. First, you can not see your pastas getting cooked in front of you anymore cause covid...I mean really? What's gonna happen...that was the one thing that was different about this place and original! Anyway we sit down, place didn't look that clean. Waitress come, ask if we are ready we answer no and she just left. Nothing to drink I guess. She comes back we order. She is extremely slow. Then while I order..I see a cockroah climbing on the wall..I tell her about it she puts it on the floor and steps on it. We should have left at that moment, not normal to see a cockroach in a restaurant, you can imagine the kitchens then! My pasta arrive, not cooked ! And bad flavor! Manager comes to ask how is everything, offers to change my plate. No thanks I will not eat anything from here, I was disgusted. They didn't refund anything. Other tables around were complaining about other things being wrong. This place should close. Went to non solo pasta, great food, cheaper and...

2024: We gave it another chance and it was sad... we just ordered 2 pastas and a garlic bread. My wife's dish was just ok (arrabiata chicken), mine (pesto fusilli with chicken) was extremely tasteless, only after adding more parmesan, chilly oil and salt started to taste a bit more. The bread also lack taste but not that much... sorry but last time, I gave a 1 star review but I do not see any other way on putting a better score this time. Service was also slow.

2022: First of all they didn't shared the promotion they had at that moment which would be very nice considering we were 6 at the table. Then the process to order food is just ridiculously slow, laggy and you depend on someone else to accept it. I order the pasta with pesto sauce and it was without any taste, lacked salt and only became better after adding chilly flakes and salt. Sorry but coming from 4 stars to 1... Just to much hype and money for lacking...

The food here was great! The salads were fresh and the pastas were well cooked and flavorful. The service was so appalling that I was mortified that I brought a date here. Which was a shame since the food was very decent. Mexico is usually known for its attentive staff and wonderful service, but this place’s was embarrassing. Immediately upon arrival the waitstaff was apathetic, bored, and dismissive; as our experience continued the service grew worse, ruining our experience.
