Lonchería María Isabel — Restaurant in Mexico City

Skip, not worth it.

Gave me old school cafeteria vibes. However the chairs were not that comfortable and service was okay. Not sure why it got high reviews.

Anyway, I thought the quesadillas were okay, but small portions. A quesadilla had rajas and the other calabas, but I was unable to taste the difference. The cheese overwhelmed the other flavors. I was still hungry so I ordered a sope with chorizo, which was okay. However I thought it was too thin and prefer the masa not fried. The agua de Jamaica was also watered down.

Overall, I paid about 200mxp and thought it was overpriced for the quality of food. Removing this place from my CDMX list and suggest you...

María Isabel is sin on a plate. Delicious? Absolutely. But also the kind of place you reserve for moments when temptation overrules discipline...not your weekly brunch spot. The menu is rich, indulgent, and bursting with flavor. If fatty, hearty, golden-fried goodness doesn’t scare you, then by all means: feast. But if you’re even mildly health-conscious, treat this like a twice-a-year guilty pleasure.

Service is quick, staff are warm and attentive, and the food comes out with impressive speed. So yes, you’ll be full (and possibly in a mild food coma) before you have time to...

Si lo que buscas es una experiencia gastronómica extrema, digna de poner a prueba tu sistema inmunológico, Lonchería María Isabel es el lugar perfecto. Desde que pones un pie en el local, te recibe un aroma inconfundible: una mezcla entre guisos recalentados y trapeador viejo.

Las quesadillas están grasosas a más no poder, los guisos parecen haber estado en la olla desde tiempos prehispánicos, y la higiene… bueno, llamarla “precaria” sería un cumplido. Mesas pegajosas, servilletas reutilizadas (o al menos eso parecían), y un piso tan sucio que cualquier inspección sanitaria saldría corriendo.

Pero si lo tuyo es vivir al límite y desafiar al destino con cada bocado, adelante, pídete una quesadilla de chicharrón prensado (si es que puedes identificar qué es qué en ese caos culinario). Eso sí, ten a la mano un par de dosis de omeprazol y quizá el número de emergencias

Además la que atiende es una persona con caracter horrible y despota que se cree la dueña del local, de verdad, espero que la comisión del consejo de salubridad general visitar este establecimiento
