I'm sorry it's one star, but the food it's unbelievable overpriced and it's nothing like Indian food. I used to live in England, the most expensive country in Europe and I've gone to high class Indian restaurants in London and I spent less on those restaurants than this restaurant which does not offer authentic Indian. The curries they serve at this place are almost like the cheap curry sauce you get at the fish and chip shop in England. This restaurant thinks they can sell overpriced dishes without actually trying, just because they're in the Roma market, they think they can make a fool out of rich kids, making them think what they're selling is Indian food, but it's nothing like Indian food. Honestly to the owners of this restaurant, I advise you to go to India or the UK to try out what real Indian food is like, because I don't think they really know what Indian food is like. The samosas they sell are not samosas or the pakoras, they got it all wrong. There's better and waaay cheaper alternatives here in CDMX, try Indian Town in the Zocalo, that place is amazing and your wallet won't suffer. We literally spent the same amount of money in this fake Indian place than we would on the renowned seafood restaurant Contramar, who is almost Michelin star quality and even a Netflix documentary is out there because of how great this restaurant is.

Read moreThere is only one place in all of Mexico City that serves momo’s and these are the best momo’s we have ever had. And, trust me when I say that we’ve had a ton of momo’s in our lives. Momo’s are Himalayan dumplings filled with meats or vegetables. Lord Buddha Restaurant makes their momo’s fresh on the spot and it’s absolutely delicious! You absolutely have to try it out. We had the chicken momo’s. They also make vegetarian momo’s, pork, and goat momo’s to name a few. The owner and his wife are very enterprising and wonderful to talk to. Additionally, a lot of the “Indian” food restaurants in Mexico City claim to be serving Indian food, but instead they are either serving Pakistani or Bangladeshi food. This place has legit REAL Indian and or Nepalese food, and it’s incredible.
We also loved their paneer pakoras and actually ordered 2 portions of it! They made fresh made ginger chai. We also loved their roti (flat bread), rice, paneer curry(cheese) with peas and potato curry with peas. Again, the paneer pakoras were the best I’ve had in my life. Crispy on the outside and melt in your mouth on the outside. All their food is incredibly hot and fresh and made with a ton of love. This place is situated in a food mall on the left side pretty close to...
Read moreWe are from India. We stayed in Mexico City with family for 15 days.
Honestly speaking I did try lot other Indian restaurants (Mainly for my mom (70) who cannot digest local cuisine). None of them could match the taste of Lord Buddha Restaurant (at least I tried 6 other indian restaurants north and south of Mexico City).
Especially if you are fan of South Indian cuisine. I would highly suggest to try this. We are vegetarians and we almost regularly ordered Veg Pakora Platter, Idly (they are so yummy), Tea (Plz do not miss this) and of course other regulars Dosa, Utthapam, Mango Lassi etc.
Krishna is such a sweet person to converse with. He is so nice that he even followed up on our travel back to US and wished us the best. Its so nice of him.
Only thing is, since he is running the restaurant almost alone (his family is there), To Go orders are better than be in person at times, as he is too occupied and busy at the restaurant sometime it took almost one hour get our orders in table. Still there is no compromise on taste.
From the bottom of my heart I say this, you are all so blessed people and you all will shine...
