Foreigners are not welcome!
Had my worst experience in over three years living and dining in Mexico.
The food was okay but overpriced. The service however was terrible. We had to ask to see a menu. We also had to ask to see a wine list.
When the waiter brought the wine I thought maybe he was high. He put the wine glass down hard and quickly poured a couple drops for me to taste. It was insufficient to smell. When I approved he quickly poured some more and turned to leave but I called him back. I wanted to see the bottle which he never showed me!!!
My partner had ordered a birthday cake for me. They forgot. They finally brought it after we were finished everything including coffee. Then they couldn’t get the mariachi band to play the birthday song. All of this was prearranged by my partner.
The attendants in the baño wouldn’t respond to my buenas trades greetings nor give me a towel…both times I went. They served the Mexicans though.
It was raining arriving and leaving. The valets did not have umbrellas nor did they open our door.
It was very clear that these waiters did not want to serve us. They gave good service to the other guests around us. However because I was a foreigner they were either uncomfortable or didn’t want to serve us.
Terrible,...
Read moreWe chose this venue because of its stunning beauty, and it truly lives up to its reputation. However, coming from the Frida Kahlo Museum, I felt a bit underdressed—so I recommend dressing up a bit more for dining here.
Pros: • The food was very good, though not extraordinary given the price point. • The ambiance is lovely, especially in the outdoor garden area where we sat near the fountain. There’s also an indoor garden area that is equally charming. • Live music is available indoors, but the outdoor space is quieter, which I personally enjoyed.
Cons: • Our bill was miscalculated, so make sure to double-check your bill before paying—an uncommon issue for a place like this. • Service was fine by U.S. standards but could be improved by Mexican hospitality standards. • All seating areas are open to the elements, so consider the weather when planning.
Reservation Tips: • Reservations can be made via email. Be sure to specify if you prefer the outdoor garden or the indoor garden area.
Final Thoughts: I likely wouldn’t return unless staying at the inn. Next time, I’d opt for a dining spot closer to the Frida Kahlo Museum. While the experience was pleasant, it didn’t quite justify the high...
Read more3 of us got awfully sick ( 2 locals included) from the food, we even had to call a doctor. The way they serve some food is unhygienic, they bring the plate and ingredients to serve them on your table, but in the meantime they are preparing it it passes from hand to hand and the ingredients doesn't seem to have been on refrigeration. The waiters are too much on top of your table talking, asking do you want this, would you like that, let m take away this, this I annoying cos they are interrupting all the time the conversation and unhygienic, talking ( spiting) on your food every time they do that. My husband had a fish and vegetables dish that was loaded and I mean LOADED with butter to the point that he felt nauseous right away while eating it due to the excess of fat/oil on the dish. We wonder if they do like the French say: "if it tastes bad, add more butter". We regret have chosen this place since 3 of us end up awfully sick from food poisoning, the hostess received us with a long face, we couldn't have a proper conversation cos the waiters was interrupting ALL the time. But mainly our health was...
