In A Nutshell:
-Make sure you bookmark Tostadas Coyoacan in CDMX. -This is probably the most famous place to eat delicious tostadas. -Located in the heart of the Coyoacan Mercado, just look for the bright yellow tables and stalls. -They take up a pretty big area, so finding a seat shouldn't be too much of a wait, but this place is very popular, so it won't be empty. -They are pretty organized, so you'll be seated. -The seats are tight, so don't be surprised if you rub elbows w/ your fellow tostada muncher. -The variety of tostadas are wide, the ones I enjoyed were the "tinga de polla", which is shredded chicken (highly recommended), the ceviche & the camarone (shrimp). -Of the three, I enjoyed the tinga de pollo the best. -Included in the meal is nice jugo de naranja (orange juice) which is very thirst quenching. -You also get a choice of some salsa's & some fresh lime. -I loved every bite of each tostada, the crunch is very addicting.
Overall, I would come back again & I recommend trying this place out, then browse the multitude of stalls in the rest of the...
Read moreMy husband and I both got horrible food poisoning after dining at Tostadas Coyoacán on June 17th. When we began eating, we noticed that some of the meat on our tostadas was cold, but ate our tostadas anyways. Within 12 hours, we regretted that decision. My husband was sick for the following three days, and I was sick for five days. My symptoms only resolved after taking a full round of antibiotics and Imodium (loperamide). After we recovered, we read over the one-star reviews for Tostadas Coyoacán, and realized that several other reviewers have reported food poisoning after eating here. Please, please, spare yourself the days of sickness we suffered, and eat somewhere else in...
Read moreExcellent tostadas! Took an Uber all the way from Centro Historico for this and wasn’t disappointed. There are a few tostada places in Coyoacan Market but this is the most famous one. They started with one stall in the corner, and have now expanded sideways, across for drinks, and even got an adjacent stall for extra seating. Serving dishes are piled high with freshly made ceviche and other meats. The ceviche is the most popular, although the shrimp (in a reddish sauce) was extraordinary. You may have to navigate a bit between the market aisles to find this place. Very clean surroundings and seating. Definitely recommend when visiting...
