I came with high expectations, since this place got some really good reviews. I tried three different tacos. I had asked the waiter if the short rib one had no bones, and he said ânoâ. However, when it arrived, it had a huge bone in the middle of the taco! Then when I asked the waiter about it again, he said âyes, that one does have a bone. Really was grossed out by that! đ¤ The pork belly taco came with thin pieces of fat and no meat on it. The fat wasnât even crispy! It tasted like it had been microwaved! The Carnitas taco was the only decent one. Therefore, thatâs why I gave it a one star. Not that I can give it zero stars. I was very disappointed with the tortillas. They didnât taste hand made it all. I grew up with a Mexican mom who was an excellent cook and made handmade tortillas. I would highly NOT recommend this place because the food was not good. Make sure to ask for a receipt and review of closel. I was overcharged at the end! The waiter didnât bother to bring me a receipt. And I didnât want be kept waiting. Two coffees I ordered weâre fine. However, I like my coffee real hot, and it wasnât very hot. The whole meal, which included three tacos and two coffees, cost me around $15 USD. Too much considering the meats...
Read moreAs other reviews say this is a slightly more upscale (but still super affordable, MXN$120 for two meat tacos and a drink) place than the rest of the Coyoacån market. Watch them make the blue corn tortillas, and then turn them into quesadillas, tacos, or other great things with delicious veg (huitlacoche, deep fried eggplant, pumpkin flower) and meat (my strong favorite was the smoked pork belly, best single thing I have ever eaten in both the Mexican food and BBQ categories). Really interesting drinks including Mexican hot or cold chocolate, cinnamon coffee, and a blue corn meal based spiced cold drink. Super fresh and just a delight. I started out being there for a snack, then made it a big snack, and then after seeing that other members of my family were getting hungry but wanted other things went back and made it into dinner, 5 items and 2 (nonalcoholic) drinks in all. Would be my first stop on a return to CDMX. Super...
Read moreWhat a pleasant surprise! We were exploring a flea market-style area near the Frida Kahlo Museum looking for some good souvenirs when we stumbled upon Trinidad Ritual de Sabores. The place looked pretty popular, so we gave it a shotâand Iâm so glad we did.
The tacos were amazingâdelicious flavor, beautiful presentation, and honestly the best tacos we had during our time in Mexico City. I wasnât even that hungry, but I ended up finishing every bite.
The only downside was the beer. I ordered a Corona, and while it came in a really cool cup, it was 80% foam and tasted flat. I think something was off with the keg.
Other than that, it was a fantastic experience. Totally worth the stop!
