TOURISTS BEWARE. Food and atmosphere were acceptable not great, but it was the service that truly disappoints. This place looks to be trying to take advantage of tourists in the area for the Frida Kahlo museum. I paid by credit card and was charged in US dollars and not MEX pesos; this is a red flag because you get a much worse exchange rate than what your bank would offer.
That was the first red flag, the second was the fact that my server offered me a credit card print out that was folded so that I could not see the numbers, but only see the signature line. This seemed suspicious to me, and I was correct….not only did I see that I got charged in US dollars, but I was also charged a larger tip than I had authorized. The server refused to reverse my transaction and allow me to pay in cash, but I did have her return the extra unauthorized tip. She tried to act like it was all an innocent mistake, but it sure didn’t seem so. Why did she fold the ticket so I couldn’t see the numbers? I’ve lived in Mexico long enough to come across these subtle ways of taking advantage of unsuspecting guests, especially one’s that appear to be tourists.
This place is nice, the food is decent, but BEWARE that they look to be trying to take full advantage of unsuspecting tourists in the area.

Read moreThe food itself from the menu is bad, not just meh, but bad. The salsa is sweet, the eggs I asked for a nice sunny side up so that the yolk would run and they cooked it through, it was tough to chew, the tortillas were ok, but the beans were awful. They were over my sweet and tasted as if they had gone bad three weeks ago. Honestly horrid beans, I ate because I didn’t want the eggs and tortillas to go to waste but the beans were genuinely inedible. As a Mexican that lives elsewhere, I came with my family expecting the typical good food you find here, I was extremely let down and disappointed. Will not ever be coming back. I do not recommend it to anyone. The buffet was the only ok thing with my family enjoying the vegetarian options even though they were hoping for non vegetarian food. Unless you’re desperate and starving. Don’t come. 600 pesos or so per person for near...
Read moreI gave 2 stars for the decent outdoor seating near Coyoacan Market. Also, the drink I had (beer with Clamato and Tajin) was good. The food was not good overall including the Sopa de Puebla and Jalisco birria tacos. The meat didn’t seem like good quality and had no seasoning. What really earned the low rating was the girl working today at the door and my outdoor table as a waitress. At the end she aggressively asked for a tip and tried to say that the tip should include the IVA with an attitude and raised voice. I did not factor in an IVA and I have never seen any restaurant worker act like that in my time in Mexico. Absolutely unprofessional, crazy, and disgusting. I wish I had her name and I would NOT recommend this place to anyone. Worst...
