A bit tucked away from the high trafficked area. We came here based on a random family with kids, who happened to be seated next to us at Mary’s, recommendation. They suggested our kids would enjoy the space and we would enjoy the food. They were right. The atmosphere is totally chill, great for larger groups and kids. It’s got a few rows of long communal tables, picnic benches, in a contained space so our kids can safely wander around, petting neighborhood dogs and gawking at the giant iguana that lives just outside high atop a tree. The staff was very courteous albeit our servers could be a bit flighty (we had to track them down to pay our bill, another time my wife didn’t get her taco until long after we had all eaten our meal). We certainly didn’t mind actually. They were on top of keeping their salsa bar stocked, which was fantastic. It’s a fairly limited menu, where you can choose from a couple of protein or mushroom option for taco, quesadillas or volcan (a hard tostada chip). Everything we ordered was delicious and we added toppings from the salsa bar, to suit our tastes. The spicy red sauce is a real kicker, but I really enjoyed the eye tearing pain. It was so good. We have been back twice and they have been consistently the best family spot in Sayulita and a place we would definitely send all...
Read moreDon’t make any mistakes, Bichos is by far the best restaurant in Sayulita. Just apply the general traveling rule: walk a bit outside the mainstream area and you’ll find this wonderful gem! Their passion fruit margarita is spectacular. And I say this because unfortunately Sayulita has become so touristy that most places serve weak, bad and expensive drinks. Not the case here! Real fruit, great tequila very nicely presented and two of these will definitely improve your Spanish. And the food? Please… I tried the Mahi-Mahi quesadilla and the Sirloin quesadilla because I’m food pervert and this place is just for me. REAL corn tortillas! They serve just the fish or meat and the cheese in it, but you complete your dish adding as much as you want of nopalitos, pico de gallo, rábano, cilantro, cebollita and todas las salsas que se le ofrezca, papá! See?...
Read moreAs someone who lives here, I almost want to gatekeep this place 🤭but I’m not going to! Bichos is absolutely the best tacos and quesadillas in Sayulita! Not to mention, they have an incredible drinks menu and such a good vibe! The salsa bar is so incredible, and allows you to make your meal customized every time so I genuinely end up coming here multiple times a week! Every time I have people visit, I bring them here on their first day and they just want to keep coming back. Because it’s still central to town, but not right on the main street it’s quiet and you won’t be overwhelmed with street performers while eating. The owners are the nicest couple EVER, and everything is made super fresh & homemade! If you are looking for the best Mexican food in sayulita, this is...
