Scammed by the 4.9 rating. The worst food in Sayulita!!! The guy didn’t think he had good service so he didn’t tip 🤷🏾‍♂️ simple as that. Doesn’t mean it was good or bad but im entitled to how he feels. Y’all gotta get away from this entitled tipping mindset. That alone makes people not wanna tip period. ------------ I went here after 4 hours of surfing and really needed some protein. So I went straight and ordered the 600 peso steak, which is highly commented on in reviews. And I waited for about 1 hour (which is fine; good food is worth waiting for), and I got this - a piece of overcooked and flavorless meat. I'm chewing it like dry chicken breast. At this point, I'm just taking it like a protein bar because I'm waiting so long, so hungry, and I don't like WASTING FOOD. To make matters worse, my table was infested with flies🪰🪰🪰—more than ten of them. I had to change table just to eat without the constant buzz and annoyance. When I didn't leave any tips because the whole time no one bothered checking on me, no drink, just me and the protein bar steak and tens of flies. Instead of addressing my concerns, the owner was mad and yelled, "DON'T EAT IF YOU DON'T TIP!!!." Since when is tipping obligatory for subpar service and bad food? I gave good tips for good food or service, even for street taco places. But not for this I had some nice tacos later day. There are so many better food options here. It's hard to make bad choices ( except for this place )

This place was nothing short of magical. My boyfriend and I were walking back from the beach and wandered down a side street out of curiosity. We saw charming tables with romantic lamp lighting, in front of a gorgeous restaurant with ambient lighting and several attentive employees standing at the front to assist you with a table if you want. We were able to make a reservation for a little bit later that night and when we came and sat down, we were greeted by the owner who promptly sat us at a table up against the outside of the restaurant. Our server came and listed the specials and one stood out in particular which was a filet mignon style dish with a raspberry reduction. Our appetizers were gnocchi and a plate with prosciutto and the freshest burrata I’ve ever tasted. All of the food was obviously fresh and our server told me they source all their meat from a farmer in Guadalajara (an ethical, good to animals place it sounds like, fingers crossed). But the quality of the meat and accompanying arugula salad was fresh and incredible. The steak almost melted in your mouth and the raspberry sauce paired perfectly. The owner came by several times to chat with us about the history of the place and tell his story since it was relatively quiet that night. It was an incredibly meaningful experience we stumbled upon randomly, I can’t recommend this restaurant highly enough.

Best breakfast in town and we’ve been everywhere. Latte is #1 as well. You’ve never had a vegan omelette like this—even if you’re not vegan try it. The muffins are like little quiche, very good. Arancini and the pizzeta also great. We had a delicious vegan dinner as well. There are less vegan options but still very good. The service is always friendly. You can tell they care about the experience and understand food. Make sure to eat here when in Sayulita.

I had bookmarked this Italian restaurant due to the rave reviews and flirty food pics.

The crew was amazing. They reminded me of "once upon a time in Playa del Carmen." They had that freshness, innocence, and good vibes that come with people doing what they love.

Mi amor Gato was wondering who might be the genius behind this "love for good food?" Who might have this "zest for life!" Is he a surfer? Someone who inherited the great grandmother's cook book? shaved his head, and decided to travel around Latin America, like a culinary Che Guevara? Someone who fell in love with someone/something? All of these our fantasies, but could it be real? The atmosphere makes us believe yes.

Speaking about food:

Torre del 🐍, Negroamaro, Plugia🍷 Picked because the name "was cool." Deep, complex, with smokey taste. Tobacco finish.

Caprese Burrata: Burrata cheese, rounded 🍅, the perfect pesto, and some super extra olive 🫒 oil. This salad tasted like divine freshness!

🐱: Ravioli Di Manzano (tender, 🌿, hearty, comforting). This place is Au Pair of the best Italian well-established places in Victoria, Canada.

I had a perfect "Al Dente" pasta, with 🍆, pesto ( I would like to buy in a jar), Parmesan, and that olive oil that must be as pristine as the Ocean 🌊 there).

They should sell bread to go. It was house made, with a moist and crispy texture, spongy; almost impossible to resist. Dip it in those sauces, that 🫒 oil, or that insane pesto.

Tiramisu: fluffy as foam, moist as the breeze, as balanced as the pro...

Absolutely delicious! Best Italian food I have ever had. Dined here near the end of my stay and sorry it wasn't sooner so I could have gone back. Service was fantastic, prices very reasonable and the food was outstanding. Found out about it from talking to two men at the next table in another restaurant the night before. They were funny talking about L'Ulivo and how "out of this world" good it was. They couldn't say enough about it, we joked they must be the owners! So we had to try it! The owners of L'Ulivo are from Italy and the dishes are authentic. They take great pride in what they offer. While I didn't have any appetizers, the others in my party had the scallops which they said were tender and tasty. I had the linguine with shrimp and mushrooms and weeks later I still think about how good it was. Another from our party had the same dish as me and the third person had the seafood pasta special which also was fabulous. We shared a decadent chocolate mousse dessert of layers of different types of chocolate!!! Right to heaven with that dessert. The total bill for three including some wine was under $100 CDN. If we return to Sayulita it will be the first place to dine! Highly recommend! You will not be disappointed.

PS: One of our party is addicted to diet Coke. Must have it with every meal. They do not offer that beverage here but the owner went to another establishment to get one for him! Now...
