We have been to Mr. Santana's in the past with positive results, however today could not have been worse. The seven of us sat at a table inside the restaurant rather than on the street. However, the music from a speaker directly above us was at a disturbingly high volume. None of us could hear what our server was saying so we requested that she turn done the music, which she did. However, upon her return, the music was turned back up and to a level higher than before. We struggled to place our orders but through yelling our orders were successful. We asked the server again to turn down the volume but after ten minutes or so, it was clear she had been overruled. One of our party got up and went into the kitchen area to ask that the volume be turned down assuming the request would be honored, but it was not. After another ten minutes then I went into the same area and the server (who was extremely sympathetic to our discomfort), pointed into the kitchen and stated the owner was in there. I went to the kitchen door and was greeted by the owner who was clearly not having a good day. I asked if he would please turn the music down and he belligerently replied that the music was for them as well. I pointed out that the request was not from me alone but in fact from the seven others at our table (there was a total of eleven people in the restaurant at the time). Again he refused to turn down the music. I told him his response would not do him well in reviews and he replied with "Oh, Boo-Hoo". We departed on the spot and he has lost seven loyal customers as a result. We do not recommend Mr. Santana's.
Your reply is at minimum, a blatant lie. Yes, two women did return but only to pay for the coffee and juice that had already been delivered, and no point did they offer an apology, unless maybe for your behavior. So far, only two of the seven people in our party has written a review. However, I can make sure that becomes seven if you do not correct the mistruths within your reply. For now, all those that read his replies, I can tell you for certain, they...
Read moreThis used to be our favorite breakfast place :( Here are the reasons why this isn't true anymore The eggs on the chilaquiles were cooked incorrectly. I asked for over medium. Mine were so overcooked they seemed deep fried. The red sauce in the chilaquiles tastes different than before. I couldn't exactly put my finger on it, but it tasted like it was missing something & had too many herbs The tortillas in the chilaquiles were very, very soggy. I know they're not supposed to be crispy either, but they were like a cake of mush. The coffee used to be perfect. Not too strong, not too bland. Today, it was just bland. & it was served with tiniest splash of creme. What do I look like? Tinkerbell? I know dogs are a huge thing everywhere now. But I'm not a fan of having a dog sniffing my butt while I'm eating. The thing is, there were 2 very large dogs just hanging out in the middle of the dining area that apparently belonged to the staff. I've never heard of "bring your dog to work day." Sorry to all the dog lovers, but dogs are unhygienic & don't belong in the dining area of a restaurant. My dad's hollandaise sauce was too salty & lacking in flavor. His eggs were also overcooked.
Service left much to be desired. It just wasn't attentive & warm. It's giving Merlina vibes
Hope you get back to how you used to be, Mr Santana, cause your food & service was SO GOOD, not sure if you hired a new chef & new wait staff but tbh we can clearly tell & the difference isn't a good one...
Read moreLong time wanting to eat here. Thoroughly disappointed. Server was overwhelmed took over an hour to get my food…. Seems they got my order wrong because my plate came out 10 minutes after my wife’s food did, and the server sat there and ate the eggs Benedict I’m assuming the kitchen got wrong. Asked her to hold the food to go take care of some business’s and she brought the plate immediately and let my food die on the table covered surrounded by flies. My food was inscipidous, so was my wife’s. Came back my coffee was gone didn’t offer any. The time I sat there I watched two other tables complainant about issues they had and saw another leave from desperation after ordering their food. Nice concept, big potential…. However I don’t think I’ll visit again. Change the restaurant mantra to “ we can’t please everybody” I came in because it read “come in and let us take care of you” full house and to go orders but the server has the time to eat eggs Benedict before the guest you have seated . Doesn’t make sense. While I was there two other tables complaint, and one even left… but hey you can’t...
