Horrible dining experience!!
We stayed at the resort for one week, and we had a reservation at this restaurant on our last evening. The expectation was high as it is on the top floor of one of the newest towers and the price-point dictates high expectations of quality and service.
The most important element of a steakhouse is to have GREAT STEAKS!. This was the WORST New York strip steak I’ve ever had. 1/3 of the steak was inedible as it was gristle and fat. The rest of the steak was tasteless and very chewy. We ordered medium rare mind-you. Also, the steak was maybe 1/2 inch thick. Absolutely not what was expected.
The risotto we ordered as a side dish priced at approximately $30 US, was undone, rice was absolutely undercooked.
The fact that it was close to 8 PM when we received our food, and our last night in town, the last thing I wanted to do was to raise a fuss and have to wait for another meal (in addition spoiling the mood my wife and I were setting) . We decided to just tolerate the dissapointment and continue to eat, however the further we got into the steaks, the more unhappy we were.
Near the end of the meal, we brought it to the attention of the staff. I’ve worked in several high-end restaurants and have never treated a customer this way. The wine sommelier/manager listened to our complaints, but had been giving facial expressions as if he didn’t trust us. He said “well, why did you eat the food”. I told him I’m not looking for compensation, but felt it was more important to let him know for his improvement. Despite that he offered 15%-off our bill, which, in my opinion, is a very small compensation for a restaurant like this.
After we received our bill, I was looking through the items -all of a sudden, the waiter ran over and grabbed the bill, saying he made a mistake. He brought the bill back, and I resumed my review of it, and found there is an item on there we did not order. This time, i was becoming inpatient, and needed to walk to find the manager which took several minutes to get his attention. In addition, I noticed that the bill was not discounted at 15%-off the total, but only the two items we complained about. Adjusting the bill by only $15 US.
I told the manager he should follow through with his promise, and the discussion became very uncomfortable at that point.
Before I could sign the check, the waiter made a visit to us again and explained he was very happy we were giving feedback and was overly appreciative of us, which came off as a bit desperate of a tip.
We would never return to this restaurant. Significantly below the class that they seem to represent. They better figure this out before the PGA tour arrives in a few weeks. I’m sure several pros will want to eat here, and this is my warning to them.

The Skirt Steak is thick, tough and chewy but seasoned ok. Should've been tenderized, at a minimum. The Beet salad was also underseasoned and underdressed. The Beets needed at least a sprinkling of salt to bring out their flavor, instead of tasting like waterlogged gourds with none. The Goat Cheese Pesto style dressing should've helped but didnt. Again, NO FLAVOR! Not even the Goat Cheese, which usually, at least, gives a tangy pop but nothing, flat! SEASON EVERYTHING!!! WHO PUTS TOMATOES & ROSEMARY in Mac & Cheese! The Flank Steak was pretty big but very good so I ate it all. The mashed potatoes were very good too. They were very creamy and very chunky. The service was great because the food was pretty fast, only 30 minutes. Which is pretty fast for the restaurants that are available in Vidanta. They said that they had the best bread in Vidanta and they were not joking. The bread literally tasted like pizza which was the best bread I have ever had. We ate during dinner which had its good and bad experiences. Since the sunset was going down and we were on the rooftop your vision was kind of blocked because the sun was in your eyes.
