Quesadillas de La Abuela — Restaurant in Nuevo León

Arrived at 9:20 am thought they opened at 9:00am and arrived to two ladies mopping and cleaning. We were told to come back at 10:00 since they food wasn't “hot” yet.... we came back at 10 and waited about 10 min and nothing, my husband had to literally almost walk into the kitchen to request that we be seated and given some coffee. Cafe de olla was good but on the sweeter side, could only stomach half of the cup. We asked for 2 quesadillas, one huitlacoche and one chicharrón verde. Both were bad. the amount of the stew was ridiculous, and the chicharrón verde tasted like CUMIN and only cumin and there was no meat at all it was all fat.

Would not recommend, would not be back. Only thing that was awesome was...

Eduardo is the superman taking care of the whole dining room! The best poblano chile and cheese quesadillas in all of Monterrey, and very likely all of Mexico. The kitchen is very clean and everything is handmade from scratch including the tortillas used for the huaraches, sopes, tacos, and quesadillas. I had the best cinnamon roll of my life from here and the pan elote is to die for. The cafe de olla alone is worth the visit. It is definitely on my favorites list of places to visit anytime I'm in...

Es innegable que el lugar está hermoso y acogedor, al entrar nos atendió una meserita con mala cara y respondiendo de mala gana, detesto que me atiendan meseras justo por ese detalle porque pareciera que las mujeres de la nueva generación se ofenden por servir y atender a un hombre. Tampoco puedo negar que la quesadilla estuvo deliciosa, en la carta menú señalan $80 la quesadilla con el guiso más $5 por la elección de otro guiso uno sobreentiende que será un total de $85 pero la sorpresa fue que esa quesadilla me costó $105 el argumento que me dieron fue porque dividieron la quesadilla y que por cada cucharada extra eran $5 más, es decir, que como según ellos le agregaron 5 cucharadas más de guiso eran $20 más!!, debo señalar que NO era quesadilla enorme, apenas si llegaba a 17 cms. y ni se veía el guiso extra y para rematar el precio de la carta NO incluye IVA, así que por esa quesadilla pagué $121.80 !!. En ese lugar se respira el exclusivismo ya que a algunos los atendieron más rápido que a otros yo esperé media hora para 1 simple quesadilla carísima. Espero que mi comentario les sea de utilidad y les recomiendo busquen otro lugar en el que NO les arrebaten el dinero de esa manera tan vil, ventajosa y tan llena de artimañas. ¡JAMÁS REGRESARÉ...
