Caiman Tugurio — Restaurant in Playa del Carmen

Nice bar with average cocktails but beware of the waiters! The guy who attended us made us pay a drink that we clearly didn't order: apparently if you don't ask for "la cuenta" but say "quería pagar por favor" (sorry for the spanish attempt!) they will not bring you the check but another drink. No need to say that a good waiter will take directly the drink back if the customer says it wasn't asked...not here, he answered back that it was what we asked for so we had to pay. I'm sorry for them if they're used to "big money tourists" that are like gold mine for them but that was very unprofessional. And we're sorry for the band that was playing good music but we wouldn't recommend such a bad service. Tourists are not all the same. Hope they enjoyed...

I booked new years eve dinner at this place. I did not know it before but what motivated me was that it said live music on the menu. In reality there was only a DJ,ehich was a huge bummer. The steak I had was the worst in my life. It seemed like it was cooked and not grilled. The cheesecake was a Panna cotta. It was OK, but not a cheesecake. The chef in the kitchen did not wear her mask during the whole evening. The fact that I pointed it out did not seem to bother them. And when I told the waitress all that, she did not even care. Side street very friendly mexican restaurant from the 5th ave on calle 24 with live music. Breakfast, lunch and late dinner is served.

Great food...nothing complicated but, very good: Salads, rice, pita wraps, burgers, sandwiches, crepes, chicken and salmon steak. Protein and fruits juices are also offered and they even have their own beer !!

2 for 1 mobitos night, I chose the tuma fish ceviche on hard tacos as well as the chicken breast with vegetables, sweet potato and spicy vietnamit sauce !! Very tasteful !!
