This place was honestly my favourite restaurant that I went to during our stay in Playa Del Carmen. It might be one of my favourite restaurants ever. My boyfriend and I were in Playa for a little short of 2 weeks, and went back twice. We would've gone back more, but they're only open at night! This was on a list of recommended restaurants provided to us by our Airbnb host. I didn't really come into the restaurant with high expectations - it is JUST rotisserie chicken, how good could it be? A couple bites in and it was fantastic. Even the rice was out of this world. The restaurant is owned by a French gentleman and his wife. The owner came over to our table actually to tell us about the chicken and the restaurant. The chicken is organic (so it's a little bit smaller) and marinated with (pineapple?) and some French spices. The dessert was also delicious. May be some of the best panna cotta I've ever had. I honestly adore this place and would love to return! It's just a little bit off the beaten path - definitely walkable from 5th Ave. Please do us both a favour and check it out yourself!

We were introduced to this restaurant by a friend a few years back, and we always come here several times during our stays in Playa. They are know for their chicken dishes which are simply delicious, and the level of service and care from the owners makes you feel like you are eating at a best friends place. If it’s your first time the owner will walk you through their menu and explain the why and how of what they do with their food. If you watch their Facebook page you can see if they are planning to put their Beef Bourguignon on as a special. We lucked in twice once for Valentine’s Day and a few weeks later. However to get this dish you must preorder it as they make it in a very limited quantity. And leave room for one of their eight amazing deserts! It may not look like much from the outside but do not judge it by its looks. Highly recommend you make a reservation as it is very popular and the four times we went this year, with a reservation, they were turning walk up business away.

RUN. DON'T WALK. To this glorious restuarant. On the way to La Brocherie our taxi driver said, "This place is not famous, thats weird you are going here." We were craving chicken after overindulging in seafood all weekend. If I had found this place on day one I would have had it every. single. day. The owner is from France and has brought his lifelong expertise in French cuisine to Mexico. He marinates organic chicken in pineapple juice and Herb de Provence and cooks it rotisserie style until the chicken is nice and succulent. Leave the touristy boardwalk and make your way to this restaurant. If you want a nice homey, rustic meal and want to feel like you were fed a five star Michelin star meal; look no further. It was a pleasure meeting the owner and the next time I am in Mexico this will be my first and last stop.

Great food, friendly service and awesome prices has been my past experience. The experience yesterday was somewhat alarming. The chicken cordon bleu comes covered with a dijon mustard sauce. The sauce is very strong and can be too much for some peoples tastes. The owner who has always been very nice waited our table. When my friend placed her order for chicken cordon blue with the dijon sauce on the side the owner refused to serve it in that manor. He explained that the food would be too dry served with the sauce on the side and that he had received bad reviews when doing so. My friend was not happy and decided not to eat anything. The owner took the remaining orders and left the table. He later returned and told my friend that she was just like his wife. This lecture from the owner seemed like an insult to all of us. We later were all served including my friend who stated she was no longer going to eat anything. My friend's chicken cordon blue was served covered with the dijon mustard sauce. My friend ate her food instead of listening to the owners preaching. We all ate and left. Even though the food was good, I will hesitate returning because their philosophy is to serve food the way they want and not what the customer wants. Apparently the customer is not right in their eyes. Total lack of customer...

We came here 2 times previously and the food was good. Love the roasted chicken. Unfortunately today we ordered the chicken Cordon Bleu. It "says" stuffed with caramelized apples, bacon, brei cheese, with a pecan sauce. Yet we couldn't find ANY apples, or Brei, NO Pecan sauce. Instead, it had a TERRIBLE tasting "gravy". Worse yet, the chicken was way over-cooked. DRY chicken is horrible to eat! We ate a couple bites and threw away the rest. They have so many good reviews because of their roasted chicken. It delicious! However they fail everywhere else. NO kind of side dishes. Only this very plain over cooked rice, or skinny useless fries (terrible for a place like this). Why not make some garlic Mashed potatoes or something??? Anything... But no, NO effort or thought put into the side dishes. My advice, buy their roasted chicken to go and make your own side dishes. Btw, even their lettuce was old too. Not good for business. We were very surprised and very very disappointed. The only thing we enjoyed this time was the bread...
