Sushi Ken — Restaurant in Playa del Carmen

The language barrier really gets in the way here, even with a pretty decent understanding of spanish. They are either not able to or are not willing to make simple substitutions or eliminations. I am very allergic to dairy, and for some inexplicable reason, they put cream cheese in half their rolls. I asked, in spanish for the roll without cheese, he took down my order and said nothing. When he came with our food, there was cheese in it. When I told him that he got my order wrong he said he didnt. When I said I asked for it without cheese he said that they couldn't do that. He kept trying to force me to keep the order and I kept repeating, I'm allergic to cheese, in spanish. Eventually he took it away, but was adamant they couldn't make it without cheese. This really makes me question whether or not they are making the rolls fresh, because if they are, there is no logical reason they couldn't make a roll without an ingredient that their customer is allergic to. The other two rolls I got were bad if you are expecting sushi and mediocre if you are expecting some weird sushi/mexican fusion (a fusion i highly do not recommend). Pésimo servicio del mesero que nos tocó, el servicio cada vez de mal en peor, parece que nos hacen un favor por atendernos cada vez que vamos. Al momento de llegar nos sentamos en una mesa para 3 personas, mientras ordenamos el mesero distraído viendo cómo entran más gente y preocupado por ver cuantas mesas puede sentar para dar su mal servicio, hoy fue 2x1 así que cada uno de mis amigos pidió una promoción, 1 sushi para comer ahí y otro para llevar, obvio al no poner atención nos trae una promoción extra, a lo cual pues ya estaba preparado en la mesa así que decidirnos dejarlo pasar sin embargo escucho que no era como se había ordenado y pues muy poco le importo, le pedí salsa de anguila y jengibre la cual nunca llegó por qué como estaba distraído mientras ordenábamos pues se le pasó anotarlo, me molesto mucho que decidí pedirlo a otro mesero el cual me lo trajo, nunca se acercó para pedirnos disculpa claro por qué no le importa, no se acercó para preguntar si todo bien y nos limpio la mesa a lo último que terminamos es decir nada acomedido, igual dejamos pasar todo el mal servicio, pero el colmo fue cuando le pedí la cuenta y tiene el cinismo mientras me entrega la cuenta de decirme que la propina no está incluida como si esa propina fuera obligatoria y como si realmente se lo mereciera, decidimos con nuestros amigos dividir la cuenta en 3 y dejar el 10% de propina, ojo en este punto ninguno estaba ni contento, ni convencido, ni disfrutando la cena que según nosotros era para estar tranquilos y en amigos pero decidimos otra vez dejarlo pasar pues al final un servicio pésimo pero pues al final ya se había hecho el servicio, me trae la terminal de tarjeta y me vuelve a repetir “la propina no está incluida ¿quieres dejar el 15%?” Decidí mantenerme al margen y decirle no solo el 10% en eso agarra me hace una cara de molestia y me deja la terminal sobre la mesa sin darme una instrucción de poner mi pin o alguna otra información y se fue, procedí a poner mi pin pues ya se como funciona la terminal, en este punto obviamente ya quería hablar con un gerente o encargado pero otra sorpresa no había estaban solo los meseros haciendo lo que se les dé la gana con el servicio creyendo que ellos se merecen una propina a fuerza por el mal servicio que se recibe, no es la primera vez hay 2 meseros más que tienen un servicio horrible y hasta cara te hacen, honestamente y personalmente yo no recomiendo un restaurant como este para ir comer, mi noche que era para relajarme y disfrutar con mis amigos después de un día largo de trabajo termino siendo lo contrario todos salimos estresados y muy molestos por no poder externar nuestros comentarios con algún encargado. The most disgusting ramen I've tried in my life! It looked bad, it smelled bad and it tasted horrible. Looked like they grabbed an old stewed, put raw noddles and then poured some hot water expecting that would cook the noodles and they just left it seating there. My wife was almost done with her sushi by the time I got my ramen which was barely warm. On top of that, the worst service, the male waiters didn't care about us. I should have taken as a warning when I asked for the spicy ramen and then he asked me if it was to go. Such a stupid question to ask to a group of people seating at a table ordering food, but later I realized he asked me that because it was going to take too long to cook it or something.
