During our visit to Playa del Carmen, we were interested in doing as many activities as we could, which meant we needed to save as much money as possible. However, we were worried that by choosing a budget hotel/hostel, we would have to give up quality. Hotel B&B Playa del Karma proved us wrong! ||||We arrived at the ADO bus terminal on the 5th Ave of PDC, and were able to walk to the hotel in less than 10 minutes. We were greeted by friendly and super helpful staff -as well as the adorable hotel kitty, Karmi- who got our room ready in no time (despite us being a bit early). Our room was basic, but had everything you need for sleeping and cleaning up. The room has perfectly adequate air conditioning, a TV, a minibar, and a safe, so for a quick visit, there's nothing else you'd need. Of course, if you are looking for luxury, I would suggest going elsewhere (for example, any of the resorts that are in the area); however, if what you want is to enjoy the destination and have a comfortable bed, AC and a bathroom to get ready, then this is the perfect choice. ||||Everyone at the hotel was great; Karen, Sebastián, Marlon & Enrique took good care of us and were always willing to help with anything we needed. They helped us schedule our complimentary massage with Laura (who was amazing!), they gave us great tips on how to get around, and were very friendly and sweet.||||The hotel is conveniently located near the main strip, and is also within walking distance of almost all transportation options. Although it is not directly on the beach, on our last day, we made it to Kool Beach Club in Mamitas Beach (for which the hotel has special rates) and it was one of the most beautiful beaches that we saw, which is an added plus to this property. ||||Any smart and savvy traveler will absolutely fall in love with Hotel B&B Playa del Karma just as...

Read moreDo not stay here. If you have read any other reviews you will see they all have something in common. This place is dirty, outdated, and broken. You’ll have a dirty floor in your room not just by the look of it but the sound of dirt under your shoes. A variety of stains on the sheets and pillowcases. A range of 20-50 mosquitoes and other bugs living in the room with you. No basic amenities like toilet paper, soap of any kind. And the shower floor by the drain is jagged. So you’d more than likely cut your foot if you didn’t look before you stepped. To top it all off the front door to the place was so wobbly that when you try and lock it with the old key the door knob just about fell off. Meaning anyone could just turn it enough gain entry. Once we walked right back up to the front office they acted like they didn’t understand what we meant. They do they speak Spanish and English and so do i. Then proceeded to stay they cannot change anything about the room, find a different room, nor refund us our money. We left the property after getting nowhere. I booked 24 Dec 2024, and am still attempting to get the refund. Don’t stay here, and if you do, check everything is good to you before you pay, if they won’t let you see the rooms before you pay. You have everything you need to know about it....
