My husband was there from the start of Jaguar 62 first opening. He would rave about the environment and it being such a cool spot. Finally I got my opportunity to go and I agreed. We have enjoyed the food and music/shows.
Sadly yesterday we had dinner and a change had come. I could feel it upon sitting down. We ordered our usual favorite-Alita's (wings) and drinks. Our waiter spent much of his time chatting, flirting, and making out with his girlfriend.
It took a bit to order and once our food was delivered the service ended. I never got a soda as i wished but said oh well, almost done anyways. When we asked for our check which we paid using a credit card( something we have done numerous times before there and all over Progresso) he pressured us with a credit card charge. Fine! We knew he was trying to hustle us but there is your 10% and we were ready to go. (Remember...this extra charge wasn't on our printed bill but rather extra he calculated on the side and showed us via a calculator. )Icing on the CAKE!!! He then he wanted to tell us the percentage of tip to give him after this knowledge, poor exchange, and his lack luster/mal service. My husband stood his ground as the waiter pushed and we paid what we thought was correct after this uncomfortable experience. I'm so happy my husband was there to deal with this highly agitating and pushy moment.
It was just sad that a place we have frequented often and thought would be a great place to recommend and bring friends to is now off our list. I thought it would be our forever spot as we move here full-time. Now, I wouldn't want anyone to deal with this especially since there are way to many options including me just cooking myself!
We are working on our Spanish but no excuse! We told him we haven't ever had to do as he was asking us EVER at Jaguar 62 and there wasn't any signage to speak on his behalf. Again, very disappointing and...
Read moreWhat a joke. This place is as bad as it gets.
they gave me a carajillo without any liquor 43. i went to bar to get the liquor and saw the empty bottle. so they gave me a shaken coffee without any liquor thinking I wouldn't notice I guess.
spoke to manager and waitress and asked me if I wanted a shot in it. they said they'd put a shot in it. it came back and there was liquor in it, I could taste it, but not liquor 43. something else.
also our clericot wasn't good, but also in a smaller glass than others. my friend left most of hers in the glass.
i thought I won't give a bad review, maybe it's a bad night.
then the bill came. they charged me for 2 carajillos. I didn't even get 1. when we left, the same empty bottle was on the shelf, proving they didn't give me the correct liquor, yet charged me twice.
and it sounds like sour grapes now... but the entertainment wasn't good. we left quickly, maybe 30 minutes we were there.
botanas were unflavored popcorn and some...
Read moreI absolutely adore this place! We were fortunate enough to have Regina as our server—she was incredibly kind, attentive, and clearly works very hard. She spoke English, which made things easier for us since we were a little embarrassed not knowing more Spanish. We probably seemed like the most difficult customers—we kept switching tables and had a few issues because it had been a long day and everyone was tired. But Regina took amazing care of us. Even though she had plenty of other tables, she was patient, professional, and turned our whole evening into a lovely one. She even recommended traditional Yucatecan food, and we tried panuchos for the first time… they were absolutely amazing! Jaguar 62 is a fun, beautiful spot filled with the kindest people and truly the best food. We felt so welcomed and taken care of. A must-visit in Progreso!
