What a fun little find. Really enjoyed this spot.
Pretzel: They're homemade which is great, but these aren't the true, Bavarian style ones with lots of chew. They're basically too small, too soft and too bready. They're good but, I prefer the real kind. Comes with honey mustard, which is also an unfortunate choice (German grainy mustard would be the better move). Still, enjoyed it.
Sausages: They have a few options, we had the braut, and it was pretty good as well. The saurkraut feels jarred unfortunately, I'd love for them to make their own, this is too mild. Comes with a small roll which was decent.
We will come back for a full meal. So far it's been okay, but it lacks the hallmark sharp, acidic German flavors, everything is a bit too sweet and mild.
Beer selection is very modest (the online menu is extensive, but in reality, they only have a very small handful). What they do have is an excellent Paulaner heff, served in the correct glassware, and a couple other crafts, though almost nothing from Germany. Would love to see some Hacker Pschorr, Ayinger, etc... in a few more styles like a real beer hall.
Service is very, very attentive. Maybe even a little too much because they kinda stand near your table watching and removing things the second they're finished. It's a little odd, but it's not bad. Extremely...
Read moreUnfortunately, this is just one of these restaurants, which can have a very good success, however it lacks of service. Fusion of German food, with Mexican food is a good idea, but a " chamorro" o Schweinshaxe should not be served with a sweet flavor, but rather a thick gravy and hot mustard ! The pork ribs are good, but if they would have served hot, it would be much better. I do understand, they are prepared before, but hot food goes a long way. If you offer invoicing and you lack of staff, make it online, but make your (ex) guests wait and beg for an invoice is not the way to good and actually a disservice.
Me personally, I will not come back, because I am done asking for invoices and rather go there, where the restaurant understands, the service ends with...
Read moreThis is the worst German food place I've ever been to. I do not recommend it. Very good service and nice place. This place wasn't crowded, but their food was super expensive for how bland it was. I ordered a pulled pork burger, which was flavorless, had no salt, was dull, and chewy. The pulled pork was tough. Also, we ordered currywurst and kasewurtz sausages, which tasted awful, lacked any shine, and were very dry. Das Bavarian fries were the only good plate, but so expensive and they weren't worth the price. You can find good German beers. This is not a good place during the rainy season.
No...
