It's unfortunate, because this place seemed very promising...
Craft beer: they have a house blonde with ginger, it's mediocre. There are a few other craft options which are decent, get the Scottish Ale.
Pizza: We got the pesto, and it was pretty unfortunate. The pesto itself is excessively greasy, and has no fresh basil flavor, it is brownish grey. Are they using dry basil? It is a really poor pesto. The nuts were nice, but a bit heavy, I'd reduce them by half. Cherry tomatoes are a good idea because they're still sweet out of season, but they need more time in the oven. The crust is woefully undercooked and soggy. A thin pub style pizza crust needs to support the toppings, it shouldn't flop like a New York slice. You need higher protein flour, and you need to work the dough a LOT more. I cannot believe that the pizza has good reviews here, because this is a truly bad crust that needs a total rework, as does the pesto.
Fallafel "taco" : not really a taco, but more of a Fallafel wrap. Nothing particularly good or bad, the Fallafel isn't particularly good, it's a bit dry and needs some fresh herbs (badly), but it's a lot better than the pizza.
I don't know, we really wanted to like this place but I cannot recommend it. Will eventually return and try a sandwich or a salad. Very friendly service but took 15 minutes to...
Read moreI have been going here since it opened 15 years ago, for that reason it holds special memories for me. I love the location, vibe and variety of the menu, however, keeping up that same level of service and prestige is not an easy task. The food can be hit or miss, however the things we order, “pan no me olvides” or “empanadas argentinas” are delicious. I was disappointed this time with my favourite dessert, the red velvet cake. They have changed the presentation, and the flavour isn’t the same. I don’t like how they now sit it over chocolate sauce, it makes it look cheap and the frosting is completely different to how it used to be. It doesn’t taste of the delicious cream cheese, it now tastes of vegetable fat. In a nutshell, it tastes cheap. The other point to make is that the service is completely erratic. I had no idea who our waiter was, we were served by multiple staff and we had to ask several times for things we wanted. Most of the time they seemed really distracted and joking around. I miss the days when the owner was present and him and his daughters were in charge. There is now a clear lack of a leadership. Despite all of this, I will continue to go back, perhaps to evoke nostalgia if not...
Read moreThis place used to be one of my favorite restaurants in Cholula. But, after two years living abroad, I came back with enthusiasm to get an amazing pizza here just to experience a terrible disappointment. My mom and I, ordered a salad and a pizza to share: the coco coco salad and and half/half pizza Los enamorados and other one underneath that one in the menu. We were very hungry and we waited around 30 min to be served. When the pizza comes it wasn’t pretty much looking like in the past, when I remember, was abundant. Salad was small though and the ingredients weren’t fresh. But the worst was the pizza. The pizza wasn’t cooked and I even could felt the raw dough between my teeth. I told my mom but she’s always ashamed to say something and she said, just eat it. But I couldn’t it was terrible, but she finished it. So i requested the bill and I told the staff about the experience, they of course told me that I should said something before, and they brought me the bill. When the time to pay came, the apologized and took the pizza off of the bill, such I appreciate because it was awful. I am grateful about that but I am extremely disappointed about the low quality that the restaurant has...
