Los Vampiros Emparedados — Restaurant in Puebla

Los Vampiros is killer. We have visited twice and really enjoyed the food, both times. The kind of place one struggles to decide whether to try another dish or revisit the brilliant dishes one knows.

The ingredients a fresh and you can see the kitchen have all of their pickling and production on show. There is real care here. On a side note the falafel 🧆 is super fresh, moist and herby...look out Beirut!

Drinks/libations/concoctions are lovely. And the house beer is kickass, nice to have a hop led, fresh, juicy craft after days of mass batch lager.

Space is really nice. Huge ceilings, exposed walls. Staff were so lovely both times, super friendly foh and mixologist on the first visit. Kitchen staff, foh and one of the owners.

What a great place. We ordered three things, the Cuban sandwich, the falafel, and the tofu sandwich, as well as fries and several drinks. All were excellent, with the tofu sandwich the only thing that wasn't basically perfect (although it was still great).

There's no place in Puebla near the centro historico that I've been to with a better value. Reminds me of pre COVID pricing and some of the cool places you could find 20 years ago while backpacking. Even the music fit that vibe.

If you want a great sandwiches with some veggies, or just some drinks that feel like you didn't get ripped off, I would go here. If we lived in Puebla this would be a regular...

I stumbled across this place randomly on my search from a meal without meat because I’ve been having tacos con carne all week.

I was very surprised when I ordered the ‘Rafalafel’ which was their take on a falafel sandwich. It was DELICIOUS. It was balanced with bold flavor with different textures that played all well together. Plus the fries were perfectly seasoned in which you did not need sauce.

In addition, I found out that they make as much as possible in house, including pickling and fermenting. Which if you know, is super nerdy and means they do everything with intention.

Can’t wait to come back to try their other options. Definitely worth...
