We were a party of 6. Now I had been to this restaurant back in 2019 (right before covid) and the food was amazing. So this year I decided to take my siblings, my partner and my parents. I asked specifically for huaxmole a traditional soup from Puebla. When I asked the server if they had it because I didn’t see it in the menu he said they did but it’s called “caldo de caderas” which was the same. Now one of the main ingredients for this type of soup is guaje seeds. Before I ordered the soup I asked him 3 times if it had guaje and he said it did. The menu had no price for the soup. From my group my sister ordered the soup, my brother, my dad and myself. When we got the soup my dad said that either the goat was not cooked right or it was old because it a very strong smell. Now this is not the first time we have had huaxmole. Needless to say we sent 2 dish back without even touching them. My sister and I tried eating some of ours and not even 5 minutes after we left the restaurant we threw up by the flower planters. We ended up having to go to the ER because of food poisoning. The soups alone were $600 pesos ($60 dollars) per soup which if the dish had been good I would had not mind paying it. Unlike in many other restaurants in the same area if you don’t touch the food and return it they won’t charge you for it this one did. They charged me for all 4 soups. The soup was salty, it stinked and it didn’t have guaje at all this was not huaxmole. My mom ordered mole poblano which is also another traditional dish and the flavor for that plate was ok. You could taste that this was not a a fresh mole sauce but more so canned sauce which is not what you travel thousands of miles to eat. My partner had what’s called a parrillada and that although it looked great the. Meet was dry. My total bill was $5,600 Pesos ($280 dollars) - NOT WORTH IT.
Our server was nice and attentive but the food was a disappointment. We ended up sick and had to loose 2 days from our trip of just being in our Airbnb after throwing up with diarrhea.
Read moreIf you're a tourist, this place is not recommended! I went for dinner last night and the menu card is very inconsiderate. There is a list of local food with no description and pictures. It is too much to ask the waiter to describe all of them so you feel urged to just guess what to choose. I ordered a chicken soup which was ok. Then I had Mole Poblano as main dish which is a chicken breast covered by a thick dark sauce and a cup of rice. The chicken was dry without taste, so the sauce that doesn't taste good was necessary to help chew the meat. While eating, I got harassed by many steeet vendors and they can make you lose your appetite and want to just leave the place. The waiters cannot be bothered for their customers to eat peacefully. The food was expensive, sevice was not remarkable and ambience was unpleasant, so I gave a 5% tip when I don't even feel that it is deserved. The waiter showed rude gestures and gave aggressive remarks "mal servicio?". A wide smile is the only reply I...
Read moreWe stopped by this place since it had overall good reviews, when you first get to the place you are greeted by someone in front, you can sit outside or upstairs. Since it was night time we decided to go upstairs. While upstairs there is a bar right when you come in and basically you can sit wherever you want since I asked my server to sit us by the balcony and he did. While seated by the balcony, the view was very attractive since you can oversee the plaza, the buses to go on tours and finally the church on the other side of the street. Looked at the menu and our server came around a couple of times to check on us so we could order and that was nice. We ordered and the food came in a bit quick.
As for the food, it was ok, I thought the Chiles were going to be great but did not come thru. The Chalupas on the other hand were better as well as the cemita de milanesa. On the other hand the...
