Santoua Cholula — Restaurant in Puebla

Una Decepción Total

Desde el inicio, mi experiencia con Santoua Cholula fue frustrante. Intenté reservar varias veces, pero el número nunca entró, y cuando finalmente timbró, me mandaron al buzón. Decidí ir directamente con mi familia, esperando que la comida compensara el mal inicio… pero fue todo lo contrario.

🍺 La Cerveza Propia: Un Mal Inicio

Pedí una Pale Ale de su propia marca, pero fue una total decepción. Le faltaba gas, el color no correspondía al estilo, y el amargor tampoco. Básicamente, no era una Pale Ale. despues pedi otra cerveza que segun era con mezcal, HORRIBLE, sabia a tepache...

🍖 El Carpaccio y el Pork Belly: Decepción tras Decepción

Después pedí un Carpaccio, que resultó ser el más triste que he visto en cualquier restaurante. Luego, intenté con el Pork Belly con puré de papa, que tardó casi una hora en llegar a la mesa. Cuando finalmente lo sirvieron, fue un desastre: ❌ Seco como una suela de zapato. ❌ Duro e imposible de masticar. ❌ Sin una gota de jugo, cuando el Pork Belly debería ser jugoso y suave por su contenido de grasa. ❌ el pure todo aguado.

En ese momento, ya era una de las peores experiencias que he tenido en un restaurante.

🔄 El Cambio de Platillo y Otra Decepción

El chef se acercó y, al notar mi inconformidad, me ofreció cambiar el platillo. Decidí probar las brochetas de mar y tierra, supuestamente la especialidad del chef. Nuevamente, un fraude culinario: ❌ Tres brochetas minúsculas con 1 camarón, 3 pedacitos de arrachera, chile morrón y cebolla. ❌ Un costo de producción de máximo 50 pesos, pero vendido como un platillo gourmet...

Al final, me cobraron el pork belly y me “bonificaron” las brochetas, pero la experiencia ya estaba arruinada. OJO... tuve que solicitar la aclaracion del costo de las brochetas por que ME LAS QUERIAN COBRAR...

⚠️ Conclusión: Un Lugar Que No Vale la Pena

Ni mi platillo ni los de mis acompañantes estuvieron buenos. La comida es una estafa, con precios elevados para lo que realmente ofrecen. Salí sintiéndome robado y con la certeza de que no recomendaría este lugar a nadie.

💸 Pésima relación calidad-precio. 🍽️ Comida mal ejecutada. ⏳ Tiempos de espera eternos. 📞 Mala atención desde la reserva.

Les falta mucho para ser un restaurante digno de recomendar....

It’s a very charming place with delicious food and attentive service. The waitstaff was very efficient and helpful, and the food was incredibly tasty. I’ve cone to Santoua twice; once for brunch and once for dinner- it never disappoints. However, two of my friends ordered the pizza and it was not impressive; it tasted kind of like a store-bought frozen pizza. But I ordered the Agatha pasta and it was phenomenal; other friends ordered pasta, tapas, and chicken. Everything but the pizza was delicious. The dining area was romantic. The staff were very neatly attired, attentive and patient with my limited Spanish. The food was beautifully presented and delicious. I tried the unique Mexican short ribs with chocolate mole. It was fantastic. One thing that puzzled me was the latex gloves given to me prior to my meal arrival. I didn't know if I was expected to work one a car or if this was just a way to pick up the ribs and not make a mess of myself.
