So glad I disregarded some of these negative reviews on here. This beach club was everything I had hoped for and more. I reserved one of the beds for 1200 pesos where 800 goes towards food and beverages, it’s actually very decent for a private bed for a full day on the beach. I have a 7 month old baby and was a little concerned about sun mid-day. I asked my waiter - Victor - to see if they had some fabric or something I could have put over my egg-shaped woven bed so that I could have maximum shade, and he was able to find something they could put over it and it worked out beautifully for the entire day. Victor is a rockstar of a waiter! He was super helpful and attentive. The beef tacos I had was some of the best on my 2 week trip (and we have travelled all over the province) - tender and juicy. The mixed ceviche & mojito were great too. I didn’t have high hopes for the food but was happily surprised. I booked a 1 hour massage as well at the beach club, and Carlos was fantastic. Just bring cash as backup because altought I had asked about 3 times if I could pay for the massage using credit card, their wifi connection on the machine was so poor I wasn’t able to pay it, so now I have to scramble my last vacation day tomorrow, to try to pay them in cash (usd and/or pesos) for the massage. Paying the beach club for the food/drink/bed was easy with a credit card, they use a different system apparently. The beach is beautiful too - white sand! Would love to come back here and to Puerto Morelos sometime in the future.

_---------------------------------_--- A good place to spend the day. Good food at a good price. We had a bad experience with our reservation, they made us pay for one of the beds but when we went to occupy it one of the workers wanted to throw us out in very bad ways, calling us liars with very rude manners and defiantly raised his voice and asked us to go to talk to the manager, the manager came to solve the problem but apparently Víctor that unpleasant waiter has more authority than the manager himself because although the manager assured us that if we could enjoy the bed that we had already paid for, a short time later we had After moving several times, Victor kept verbally pestering him over and over again with a rather annoying defiant attitude that the manager couldn't bring himself to finish. If we did not go, it was because it was December 31 and all the other establishments were full with no places available. One of the clients was also unfriendly with us, he was bothered by the situation, the noise and we disturbed his peace. Hi take several photos of my family, I don't know for what purpose, I inform the manager about this client but Víctor appeared again imposing his will on the manager's, my claim coming to nothing. Luckily we been moved to an area further away from the area where Víctor attended, Alan the person who attended us was courteous, friendly and very professional, he made that incident forget in a few hours. I want to emphasize the mismanagement on the part of the manager who did not know how to solve our incident with the aforementioned arrogant Víctor. I guess the seniority of this worker prevails over the authority of the manager. In my humble opinion, both of you should take a customer service course and Victor an anger management course. If you manage to get away from Victor, your experience in the place will be excellent. Good luck with him if you're unlucky enough to have Victor as your waiter.

For $1200 MXN, with $800 back in food credit, We hung out in a comfy Bali bed alllll day, which made the 99-degree heat index way more tolerable. We used the full 10 am to 6 pm usage window. The view is beautiful, minus the seaweed. The food menu is quite extensive and the prices are very reasonable! We had the Botaneros platter for $355 pesos & it was more than enough for 2 people: 5 super saucey BBQ wings, 5 chicken fingers (very bland so dip it in the ranch dressing or BBQ sauce), 5 big mozzarella sticks, 5 onion rings, French fries & plenty of celery & carrot sticks to get your veggies in the day. The Pineapple beverage was weak and had little to no alcohol, so I regret using the food & beverage credit on that. I used the last $120 on the Brownie Sundae at the end of the day, which was large and delish & brought our F&B total to exactly $800 MXN. Since we didn't eat breakfast before we went, the food easily kept us full all day and night, which is a steal for eating out on vacation. We didn't use the pool that was available, but it looked nice & others seemed to be enjoying it. The restroom was decent enough, but small with only 2 stalls. This was a perfect way to spend the day in Puerto Morelos. I'd definitely do it again & highly recommend.

The staff at this hotel were one of the MOST welcoming, hospitable and kind people. The manager Ernesto was extremely accommodating from the moment we arrived. He went out of his way to make sure we had everything we needed and made us feel welcomed like family. The staff who runs the beach food and restaurant were also AMAZING. We mainly had Eliseo for our stay and he was more than fantastic. Always was more than happy to see what we needed. Brought everything with a smile and just would talk to us. SUPER NICE man. We also had Steph for a day and she touched our hearts with her kindness and stories. There was nothing they wouldn't do for us. They made you feel as if you were there all of the time. Everyone at this hotel made you forget about anything bad and made your stay truly a vacation. The hotel is located right ON THE BEACH. It's only a few steps from the rooms. Location if great, a little quieter than main Cancun (about 20 minutes away). There was a bunch or restaurants and shops right down the block. The hotels food was so good we only went into the town once to try food and it was NOTHING COMPARED to our hotel restaurant. Even the way the food was served was done "fancier" at the hotel over the other restaurants, and it tasted much better. The hotel had a great beach, a pool, and massages on the beach which was great and we'll priced. You also have access to the related hotel down the block when you stay at this hotel. So another pool and beach access. We rented a cabana on the beach which was a great deal. More than half of the money front he cabana rental goes towards your food purchase. They also had an area go set up private excursions. I am not the type of person to visit a place twice but this hotel and staff made me 100% want to return. I will most definitely return just to spend my week here at this amazing establishment.

Thank you to Ernesto, Eliseo, Steph, and ALL of the hotel staff for making our...

This review is for the beach club hotel at Ojo de agua, which is a different building than the “hotel ojo de agua”. The pros: It’s cheap It is literally right on the beach Staying here gets you access to the actual beach club It has beds and a shower, what else do you need!

The cons: It’s a bit run down, could definitely use some upgrades. This property could be so much more than what it is but then again they could charge a whole lot more for it too. The AC might work, might not The shower might be super hot, might be super cold, all depends on how you keep turning the knobs There might be ants in your room, and there might not You might be sleeping on someone else’s jizz stained wrinkly sheets with long black hairs on the pillow, but then again you might not. There’s a safe in your room, it might work but probably not. There’s a TV in your room, once you figure out which of the 4 remotes it is you might be able to get it to work, but then again you might not. The bed sheets they use for curtains might have weird orange stains on them, but maybe not. Depending on what time of day it is, you might get the friendly front desk person, but chances are good that you won’t Chances are good you will get quite a few whiffs of sewer gas

We stayed here for a few days, it served its purpose, it gave us a bed and a shower and good access to the beach, which has some pretty fantastic snorkeling and some awesome wait staff at the beach club, it’s also in good walking proximity to all the amazing restaurants and bars puerto Morelos has to offer. The hotel was exactly what we paid for, if you keep your expectations low you won’t be disappointed. If you’re a resort dweller, or someone that has high expectations you may want to...

Stopped by here the first day we were in town on a 7 day vacation. Victor greeted us right away and got our names and explained how everything worked. (250 pesos/person with $200 of that that can be used on drinks or food.) He set up a couple chairs for us and we envied the day at the beach. We ordered some food and it wasn't the greatest. (more on that later) When we went to too get our bill at the end it turned out we still had a credit so Victor brought us an extra drink. The next day we decided to bring our own chairs and umbrella to the beach because I'm kinda cheap and didn't want to rent chairs again. Turns out the meal we had that day was more than it cost us to rent the chairs. The following day we tried out a different beach club and it was similar and the food was decent. Wednesday we decided to go back to the second beach club and it turned out to be closed on Wednesdays. So off we went to try Ojo de Agua again. As we walked up Victor greeted me by name as if we had known each other for years. This is two full days after he had served us before as well as probably 100 other people in between. That was very impressive to me. Turns out we went back and rented chairs from him for the rest of our vacation. And the dogs the first day was just a one time thing. Everything else we ate or drank was fantastic. The last day we rented one of the more expensive beds and it was a very windy day. Victor spent extra time setting us up wind breaks and mage it a very comfortable spot to spend a bad weather day in the beach. He is a master of his craft and a great asset to the company.

Thanks for...
