The staff at this hotel were one of the MOST welcoming, hospitable and kind people. The manager Ernesto was extremely accommodating from the moment we arrived. He went out of his way to make sure we had everything we needed and made us feel welcomed like family. The staff who runs the beach food and restaurant were also AMAZING. We mainly had Eliseo for our stay and he was more than fantastic. Always was more than happy to see what we needed. Brought everything with a smile and just would talk to us. SUPER NICE man. We also had Steph for a day and she touched our hearts with her kindness and stories. There was nothing they wouldn't do for us. They made you feel as if you were there all of the time. Everyone at this hotel made you forget about anything bad and made your stay truly a vacation. The hotel is located right ON THE BEACH. It's only a few steps from the rooms. Location if great, a little quieter than main Cancun (about 20 minutes away). There was a bunch or restaurants and shops right down the block. The hotels food was so good we only went into the town once to try food and it was NOTHING COMPARED to our hotel restaurant. Even the way the food was served was done "fancier" at the hotel over the other restaurants, and it tasted much better. The hotel had a great beach, a pool, and massages on the beach which was great and we'll priced. You also have access to the related hotel down the block when you stay at this hotel. So another pool and beach access. We rented a cabana on the beach which was a great deal. More than half of the money front he cabana rental goes towards your food purchase. They also had an area go set up private excursions. I am not the type of person to visit a place twice but this hotel and staff made me 100% want to return. I will most definitely return just to spend my week here at this amazing establishment.
Thank you to Ernesto, Eliseo, Steph, and ALL of the hotel staff for making our...
Read moreThis review is for the beach club hotel at Ojo de agua, which is a different building than the “hotel ojo de agua”. The pros: It’s cheap It is literally right on the beach Staying here gets you access to the actual beach club It has beds and a shower, what else do you need!
The cons: It’s a bit run down, could definitely use some upgrades. This property could be so much more than what it is but then again they could charge a whole lot more for it too. The AC might work, might not The shower might be super hot, might be super cold, all depends on how you keep turning the knobs There might be ants in your room, and there might not You might be sleeping on someone else’s jizz stained wrinkly sheets with long black hairs on the pillow, but then again you might not. There’s a safe in your room, it might work but probably not. There’s a TV in your room, once you figure out which of the 4 remotes it is you might be able to get it to work, but then again you might not. The bed sheets they use for curtains might have weird orange stains on them, but maybe not. Depending on what time of day it is, you might get the friendly front desk person, but chances are good that you won’t Chances are good you will get quite a few whiffs of sewer gas
We stayed here for a few days, it served its purpose, it gave us a bed and a shower and good access to the beach, which has some pretty fantastic snorkeling and some awesome wait staff at the beach club, it’s also in good walking proximity to all the amazing restaurants and bars puerto Morelos has to offer. The hotel was exactly what we paid for, if you keep your expectations low you won’t be disappointed. If you’re a resort dweller, or someone that has high expectations you may want to...
Read moreStopped by here the first day we were in town on a 7 day vacation. Victor greeted us right away and got our names and explained how everything worked. (250 pesos/person with $200 of that that can be used on drinks or food.) He set up a couple chairs for us and we envied the day at the beach. We ordered some food and it wasn't the greatest. (more on that later) When we went to too get our bill at the end it turned out we still had a credit so Victor brought us an extra drink. The next day we decided to bring our own chairs and umbrella to the beach because I'm kinda cheap and didn't want to rent chairs again. Turns out the meal we had that day was more than it cost us to rent the chairs. The following day we tried out a different beach club and it was similar and the food was decent. Wednesday we decided to go back to the second beach club and it turned out to be closed on Wednesdays. So off we went to try Ojo de Agua again. As we walked up Victor greeted me by name as if we had known each other for years. This is two full days after he had served us before as well as probably 100 other people in between. That was very impressive to me. Turns out we went back and rented chairs from him for the rest of our vacation. And the dogs the first day was just a one time thing. Everything else we ate or drank was fantastic. The last day we rented one of the more expensive beds and it was a very windy day. Victor spent extra time setting us up wind breaks and mage it a very comfortable spot to spend a bad weather day in the beach. He is a master of his craft and a great asset to the company.
Thanks for...
