Have been ripped off by the waiter with a disability several times. First time he lied about the price of the chairs with my mom, before I got there and he tried to pocket the extra money. I made him return the money to her, as I am local and know the prices.
Second time, I let the manager know I didn't want him as our waiter, as he steals from customers. She assured me she would watch the bill and make sure nothing was amiss. Sure enough, he added 1500 pesos to our 1200 peso bill as a tip. He told us there was no paper in the machine, as he couldn't give us a copy of the credit card receipt. We checked the app and saw he stole 1500 pesos. I complained to the manger and she gave us our money back and did nothing to him. While leaving he confronted me and used an awful slur towrds me and my family. He threatened to have the cartel come after me for taking the money back, which is laughable.
This used to be my favorite beach bar in town by a long mile. But, it's not worth having to constantly monitor if the waiter is going to steal from you. The owner and manager really need to get on top of this. Stealing from your customers is awful and keeping staff on that steals from your customers is almost criminal. That waiter was still working there months after this incident. It appears other reviews show this same guy stole from many others. Not sure if he threatened anyone else, but wouldn't be surprised.
Avoid if you don't want to get ripped off, until they can get control of their wait staff. Its insane that anyone has to write a review like this and there appears to be many of them for this place
Edit on the review:
I was informed that they have signs out that say, "If you dont get your receipt, its free". I have not been back, but it sounds like they are trying to...
Read moreSat on one of the loungers, waited 5 mins for someone to come around to take my order no one came (no big deal) so I went up to the bar to orders beer and tell them I was sitting on one of the loungers, they told me to go to the lounger and they would bring it to me, so I did, I wanted about 10 more mins, no beer so I went back to bar and told them I needed a beer now lol, so I got one and at the same time told the waiter that was working the loungers that I would like a bucket of beer that way I'm not waiting on them all day. Zero rush at all to get me the bucket even after I had reminded him I few times and showed him that my first beer was gone and waiting again I even kinda begged please grab me my bucket. I was zero priority for him at all, don't know why, but I finally got my bucket and that was nice, but then for for ever beer I had to look for him again to open them because I didn't have an opener and he wouldn't leave me with one, but the place is nice and the food looked really good but the service...
Read morePlace is highly overrated. I’d give it 3 out of 5, but will go with 1 just to lower a rating at least a little.
It is way too expensive for what it is. Main audience there is expats living nearby, who don’t really care about price fairness :)
Food quality is low. Fajitas for 250 pesos were 90% pepper+onion, 5% rice and 5% chicken. Burrito for 230 pesos was mostly rice
Service is mediocre. We were using beach chairs and food was served directly there without even basic paper napkins or any type of cutlery.
Audacity of stuff is beyond any expectations.. when bill was brought and we were paying it with a tip (!) waiter recounted money and said that some money were missing, because “recommended tip is bigger” than what we were about to leave!
Seriously, just think of it. Recommended tip is called recommended for a reason. And tipping in general shouldn’t be on shoulders of customers. I’d recommend all the waiters in this place to ask their boss to pay them properly and stop...
