Excellent dining experience at El Encanto tonight. We started with the Nachos El Encanto to share, portion size was good for 3 of us and was very tasty. For mains we had the shrimp gobernador tacos, chicken fajitas and the pork and onions dish (I forget the name). All three were delicious. Two of the dishes came with guacamole and it was really good. If we get the chance to go again we will order that as a starter. Best food we have had in Mexico so far. The service was excellent and at the end of the meal, the chef (Jesus) came to ask us how the meal was and told us a bit about the restaurant and his background. Prices were very reasonable, especially compared to the restaurants by the lake. A couple of notes: Itâs a 10 minute walk from the waterfront (but worth it) They do not serve alcohol, it is BYOB and there is a small supermarket âMayan Walmartâ a few doors down with a good selection of wine and cold beer. If you like a bit of spice, ask for some of the salsa picante. Cash or card accepted

Read moreASK ABOUT WATER / DRINK PRICING IN ADVANCE! They charged 55 pesos ($3.67CAD, $2.75USD) for a single 600ml bottle of ciel water! Ceil is about the cheapest bottled water you can buy in MX. In 10 months travelling in Mexico, I haven't ever seen a price mark up that high. You can buy an identical single bottle at supermarkets for 6.90....That's just an offensively high price. Forget about bulk pricing. We had 3 bottles of water at dinner and had to ask twice if they made a mistake because all three normally be 55 pesos at most restaurants. It's too bad as there is lots to like about this place. Service is excellent, food is very good. Prices are not out of line for a tourist town,...
Read moreMy partner and I ate dinner at El Encanto to finish off a fun day in Coba. The atmosphere was very beautiful and romantic. The service was exceptional. Our waiter was very kind and checked in on us to make sure we were okay. Jesus, our chef, was absolutely extraordinary. He made the food with love, and we truly appreciated the experience.
The vegetariana fajitas was delicious. I was very happy that they offered a vegetarian option. In addition, the drinks were so yummy! I had the agua naturales (pina).
The price is very reasonable.
I would absolutely recommend this place!
