I dislike giving reviews with less than 3 stars but last night's dinner experience was rough. Esthetically, the restaurant is very beautiful, comfortable seating with nice atmosphere and friendly staff. Unfortunately that is the end of the list of pros. The Japanese food was poor. The quality of meats and fish were ok but the seasoning and sauces were either tasteless or extremely salted. The presentation of the dishes looked the part but I just couldn't bring myself to eating the seared scallops, salmon ikura tacos or my usual favorite miso sea bass. My husband ordered the hot stone flat iron wagu beef with 3 dipping sauces but opted to use the kids mustard and ketchup. The mochi ice cream deserts tasted like they were wrapped in leather. Wait. I forgot to mention that the "kids meals" were really good. The Mac and Cheese got a thumbs up from my picky 5 year old and the fries were super crispy; we...

The tuna poke bowl and tuna tataki were both great. The fish tasted fresh and the pickled beets were excellent. Another dish to try is the flat iron wagyu where you cook your own pieces of wagyu beef on a hot iron brought to your table. It's a cool experience that allows for a lot of customization and fun.
Finally, GET THE PASSION FRUIT AND BASIL SAKI. It might be the best drink...

However, the food was just alright. One thing that stood out was how the entree was basically the same size as the appetizers.
Also, the plates were really big it might make you feel more full than the tiny portions of food makes you feel. I would say order more sashimi, pass on the cauliflower and Korean BBQ, but overall don’t be afraid to order more because it takes awhile to come out.
The service was subpar. We had to remind them fill our empty waters a couple times until the end when they picked started filling our waters without the reminder but at that point we didn’t need it anymore.
Anyways I would give it a shot just don’t come in with too many...
