I had such a good time at the Grand Moon Palace this week. My only disappointment was this steakhouse. We were asked to reserve the steakhouse ahead of time, so I called the first day I arrived because I had a large group of 14. They said they would only let me reserve 2 days ahead of time. When I called them mid day 2 days ahead, they said the only time they could give me was 10 p.m. I was disappointed because there were 5 kids in my group who would all be asleep by then, but I had heard so much about the steak house that we decided to keep the reservation. When we arrived on the day, I was told that we would be seated on two separate tables. At no time during reservations was I told that they wouldn't be able to seat us together. Then the hostess proceeded to tell me that they never seat that many together while I can see a family of 14 to 15 seated in front of me. I asked them to put adjoining tables together and after much debate they obliged. They took our orders and said the kitchen is closing soon. I don't understand why you give out 10 p.m. reservations if you are going to close the kitchen early. My father asked for Lobster and they said they ran out! When the food came out, the server didn't know whose steak was whose. We had to cut our steaks to see who got the medium steak, and well done. The steaks were so incredibly salty, that 4 of us barely ate after all that waiting. The kids fell asleep waiting for their food, so they didn't eat either. The dessert was terrible, the brownie was the only saving grace. I will mention that the server was apologetic about the salty steak and offered to replace it. All in all, I wish I had never made that reservation. It ruined our last night. We could have enjoyed ourseleves at Jade, The Italian place, or even the Grand Buffet! The reason I give 2 stars is because the service was took way too long . We almost got up and go to grand buffet next door . I actually want to try the lobster but they told me I have to pay $450 US dollars out of my pocket for 3.3kg ( 14 cent/g).however my family decided to go with steak instead because we have had seafood for lunch and want to switched up to meat for a change . I feel like they’re little annoying when I don’t order it. They were talking to each other but I am also a bi-language I could just tell and the guy ( I believe the owner or manager) try to sell a bottle of wine to my husband. We told him twice that we have a few bottles in our room that we didn’t even touch . He make us feel very uncomfortable keep asking multiple times with a weird tone.The reservation is hard to get in . You have to do at midnight for 2 days in advance so inconvenience for the guests . we started with 3 hot entrees, the calamari, the razor clams and the bone marrow, all perfectly sized and delicious. for the main course we decided to go for the biggest and baddest item on the menu, the mighty 35oz Tomahawk steak, we asked for medium well, it came more on the medium side, but rest easy. the plate was hot enough for us to be able to perfectly cook the strips as we pleased.
enough for 3 people or in our case 2 very hungry carnivores, we were more than satisfied with the meal, well worth the resort credits.
