I stopped at this place after biking about 5 miles on a beach bike in the heat. There were only 2 customers in the place.
I took a seat, recovering myself for a few minutes and responding to some text messages. Literally every 60 seconds the fat little guy behind the bar would pester me for my order as if he couldn’t see I was otherwise occupied. After the 5th time I told him to give me a break I’ll order when I’m good and ready (in Spanish which I speak fluently). I hadn’t even been given a menu by the way!!
Anyway, from there he and the other employee became more and more aggressive … anyway even though I was hot and thirsty I told them they could buzz off there are only about 100 restaurants and bars along the road parallel to the beach.

Read moreThis restaurant blew me off the water. I wish I could give this restaurant 5 extra stars for their amazing service, food and special performance (come Thursday night to see the surprise!). We have been here for 7 days, we leave tomorrow, and this was MY FAVORITE RESTAURANT in Tulum. We had the lavender shrimp with sea salt that in all my 29 years of life had never tasted shrimp this delicious. We also had the stuffed jalapeños, tikinxic pescado, and the Chile relleno ancho. Just wow. Wow wow wow. To the sweet ambiance, candles on the table, beautiful tribal music, the flavors that hit your mouth, and the wonderful smiled from our server, this place surpassed all of my expectations. It is a bit pricey but the experience was priceless. I left with a huge smile, happy heart and a...

The prices was riddicilously high, we paid around 2400 pesos for our meal. The ceviche tasted awful, the fish was frozen (!) and pieces of fish was stucked to each other. The coconut shrimp and the steak however, tasted Ok.
Worst of all was that I got food poisoning, I felt nauseous when we got back to our hotel, I had stomach pain all night and in the morning I spent half of my day in the bathroom… my boyfriend had the same experience and we shared...
