My 1st time to Posada Lamar, it was a lucky find when the town was pretty booked-up. I awoke feeling we had landed in Paradise. This is my 2nd stay which I booked in advance, looking forward to revisiting it. This hotel is a rich artsy primitive cabana style dream right on the primo beach of Tulum. I was in the Ambar Room. Fresh beautifully presented continental breakfast is served on your balcony or porch every morning at the time you request. Bed is very comfortable. Rooms are clean, and no two are exactly alike. Wi-fi was solid. Reception staff, Adriana, is an iconic inn keeper, professional and friendly, attentive, speaks English very well, and gives good recommendations for restaurants. Jorge is the other reception person who was quite helpful in making recommendations and answering questions. Best mojitos ever at the bar which is friendly and accommodating as well. Had a super massage with their private massage therapist. Friendly staff keep the rooms and the grounds immaculate on a consistent basis. The gardens are well kept. Lots of good restaurants in the area. I also went to the private cenote owned by this hotel group, and had the place to myself for a good hour. I cannot rave enough about Posada Lamar, and cannot wait to go back. This place is good for families, couples and singles. Warm gatherings at happy hour by the beach every afternoon, early evening. There was definitely an international flair of people staying at Posada Lamar in Tulum. If you are looking for an all-inclusive, this would not be the place for you. However, if you are looking for the beach/ Tulum vibe, great service, and rooms with some artistic character,...

First impressions were great, looked like a nice place to eat. The hostess advised it was cash only and as we didn't have cash we went to leave, the hostess then said we could pay by transferwise and we agreed to do that.||Sat down ordered food, the staff at this point were all very polite and nice. The food was average and actually very overpriced but this wouldn't of been an issue but for the rudeness at the end.||When I asked for the bill another woman came over and said I believe you are paying by transferwise of which I said yes as this was what was agreed at the beginning. I said "all I need is your email," even before I could finish explaining that is how it worked she rudely cut me off, "that's not how it works, it's an account number, and we are only doing this as an exception for you." ||She was extremely rude with the way she spoken to us and ruined our night.||For future reference you can pay by email, the recipient simply needs to input the bank details instead of forcing the sender, in my case customer to do it. ||Also don't advise customers this is a payment method if you are going to be so rude about it afterwards. It really let down the whole experience. If you don't want to take card payments because you want to avoid taxes, I actually have no issues with that but being rude to a customer who is out to enjoy an evening on holiday.. perhaps it's not the best role for you if being polite is such...

I honestly don’t know where to begin. I never write reviews and had to set this account up while at the beach after I arrived back to my room in Tulum. Pictures and words for one do not do Tulum in general justice but this spot is something else. I have traveled more places then I can list and it’s not very often that a moment, a place can almost bring me to tears. This hotel/restaurant/little piece of heaven is something I will never forget and will most definitely be back. For such a small piece of area you have somehow managed to make it seem like you were stepping into another world. A place so peaceful and cozy I didn’t want to leave. I looked around at every little detail in awwww and saw people laughing and really enjoying themselves that it literally made my heart happy. I wanted to bring everyone I knew here just to experience it. The food was unreal and really an experience. I loved seeing the 2 dogs just hangin around like everyone was at a family dinner with not a care in the world. Thank you so much for a memorable night and making sure to get to know us even though it was so busy. You can really tell that you put your heart and soul into this place and it shows. I’ve always said I would never get married again but in that moment tonight I actually thought about how amazing it would be to experience something...

If you are looking to stay beach side for a cheaper option, this is definitely the place. This hotel exceeded our expectations. The staff was so accommodating and friendly, especially Willy. They bring breakfast to your room every morning and clean your room everyday. Free bikes are available and ask for a cooler if you need one; if they are available, they will let you borrow one. The location is perfect because you are central to a lot of places: about a 20 minute bike ride to downtown Tulum, about a 20 minute bike ride to the ruins, and very close to a lot of restaurants. Highly recommended 110%. This hotel made our stay very memorable. Thank you to all the staff that made this such a great experience!

A piscina é agradável e pega bastante sol!

Thanks to Adriana and all the staff for a relaxing and fun stay. The location of this hotel is exceptional - it’s literally steps from the ocean It’s out of the party zone but close to everything you need. The morning breakfast on your terrace is a treat and very special. Rooms are very clean and cool - I used the fan. Didn’t need the aircon. Comfy beds, loved the thatched roof. The staff gave me helpful tips on where to eat and what to do. Added bonus are the massages at the hotel which you can have on the beach or in a relaxing massage tent. I’d recommend staying here solo, as a couple or a family, and can’t wait to come back. Thank you
