My friend and I were pretty desperate to get out of dodge being we had to cancel our planned trip (elsewhere) last summer. We wanted somewhere comfortable and boutique. Hotelito Azul is a good balance of service without being too uppity. If we needed anything, we had help. If we wanted to keep to ourselves, we did. David was our concierge services contact. He was very responsive, even when he wasn’t on property. We regret not getting in touch much sooner than our arrival. Many of the activities he could arrange needed to be done in advance. Our bad. He was very helpful in advising us about many small questions and also helping us time out when to arrive at a certain restaurant as a walk-in. The rooms - we stayed in an Oceanview Suite. It felt very spacious. It’s simple but cute. Very comfortable bed and bedding. There is a safe to stash items you don’t want to carry about, like your passport. The hammock on the balcony was a great place to enjoy the view from. The bathroom was big and the shower had great water pressure and hot water. The housekeeping staff kept everything fresh and clean. The only negative wasn’t even really that bad, I guess depending on how you look at it. My friend got a little water drip that quickly stopped during a pretty heavy downpour. She just dried off, rolled over and went back to sleep. The beach and pool - the beach chairs are very comfortable to sit and lay in, but we quickly became too hot and moved to the pool area, since the ocean wasn’t ideal swimming condition while we were there. The pool kept us cooled off, but we had to stay in the water. Basically, there is limited shaded areas if you want to take a break from the sun. Not horrible but something we did notice. The pool is somewhat small but we didn’t have any troubles with it being crowded. Small hotel = fewer people accessing the amenities. The outlets - every person we interacted with was very friendly. We had dinner our first night there, rooftop. The shrimp tacos were SO GOOD. The guacamole was very fresh. Perfect after a long day of travel. We also enjoyed room service from Olivia one morning. We just wanted a small portion so we shared the eggs Benedict on toast and two juices. Loved the juices. The Benedict was yummy, too. Food and drink items are priced at a premium, but we read up on Tulum as a whole and the outlets at Hotelito are about average but the quality is above average. The coffee delivered to our door each morning was a happy little ritual for us. This was a great value for a quick get away. We would consider staying here again.

A Heartfelt Stay at Hotelito Azul – More Than Just a Hotel This was our first time visiting the Yucatán Peninsula, and from the moment we stepped into Hotelito Azul, we were warmly welcomed by the staff — something that set the tone for our entire stay. The hotel itself is beautiful, but what truly made it special were the people we met along the way. A huge shoutout to the incredible staff who made our experience unforgettable: • Hugo, thank you for your warm welcome and tour when we arrived — it was the perfect start to our adventure. • Samantha, we loved chatting with you and meeting little Cocha the puppy! • Karen, you made us feel like family every time we returned from a day out — thanks for letting us share our pictures and stories, and for the great service at Olivio. That pink pineapple drink was next level! • Fabian, hermano, we tried to limit our comings and goings so we wouldn’t trouble you too much with the car — but every time you helped us, it was with a warm smile and kind words. I really appreciated practicing my Spanish with you — and I’ll never forget you being there when we saw our first coati! • Griselda, we only met you once, but we’ll always remember your laughter and the way you cared for our room. Thanks for the fun towel animals — they made us smile every day! If you’re staying here, my advice is: connect with the staff. Many people miss the best part of Hotelito Azul by keeping to themselves. Share your stories, your pictures, your smiles — it makes all the difference. A few other things to know: • The hotel was a little tricky to find the first time, so I’ve posted a picture of the front entrance to help future guests. • We felt completely safe during our stay and appreciated the secure property. • Once you pass through Olivio restaurant, you’re transported into a peaceful, jungle-like oasis. We stayed during the week and practically had the place to ourselves — a definite highlight. • We will 100% be back — next time in a different season, hoping to avoid the seaweed. Thank you, Hotelito Azul, for making our first trip to Tulum one we’ll always treasure.

Service 5/5: I am glad this hotel had staff that speaks English and Spanish. The staff were always available to help me with my luggage and charge our phones and answer any questions. I felt safe since they have security and cameras in the property. Thanks to Hugo and Rodrigo for your service. Food 4/5: The hotel has two restaurants. Olivia is an organic restaurant that is open for breakfast. Agave is their mexican restaurant which serve for Lunch and Dinner. Both restaurants offer different options. I really enjoyed their ceviche and grilled octopus. Drinks 5/5: The drinks are somewhat pricey, but they were always on point. My favorite drinks were the Caipirinha and Paradise drink. Beds 5/5: The beds were very comfortable not too hard but not too soft. Hotel Design 5/5: I love how the hotel looks a like jungle next to the ocean. My room look like a tree house, but very elegant inside. My room had a balcony with a hammock. My girl love the smell of the room, so thank you. The hotel has several chairs and beds on the beach. Checkout 1/5: The checkout was very slow. Unfortunately, the hotel doesn’t combine all the charges into one bill. Normally in the US checkout will take less than 3 minutes, but I spent about 30 minutes to pay for the two restaurants and the rooftop drinks. Next time, I’ll prefer closing the bill at the restaurant than during checkout. Rooftop 6/5: The reason why I booked this hotel was because of the good reviews of the rooftop. The rooftop has two jacuzzi and two swimming pools. Also, the rooftop is well decorated with outdoor string lights and varnished wood. They also have a big rounded mirror to take selfie pictures. I definitely love the rooftop to see the sunset. It was very romantic and a great place to spend the night. The rooftop closes around 10:30pm Overall 4/5: I will definitely come back.

This is the first review I have ever written. The reason being is that I almost canceled my booking due to some of the negative and one star reviews on the website. I first need to say that they couldn’t be further from the truth. I can wholeheartedly say this is the best hotel I have ever stayed in my life. I have traveled everywhere from California to India, to Dubai, Thailand, London and more and never have I experienced a truly remarkable vacation such as this. My girlfriend and I stayed in the oceanfront suite which was nothing short of spectacular. With unobstructed views of the perfectly blue horizon and direct view of the sunrise every morning the room became a sensational part of the experience. Every morning we received a thermos of the delicious coffee and came back to our room cleaned with a snack waiting for us on the bed. The staff was exceptional and catered to every need one could have and did it with an exuberance that truly made you feel like you were the guest of honor. The private beach frontage offers an experience that is not shared by 95%+ of the hotels on Tulum Beach. We know this because walked over 5 miles on the beach to compare each hotel and nothing came close. Most were overly crowded and suffocated by the drowning music while Hotelito Azul offered the tranquility that one would want on a getaway but with the flare that made you still feel like part of the scene. The breakfast from Olivia’s (part of the hotel) was an Instagram foodies wet dream and the taste to match it. We came in with the expectation that the photos might paint a different picture than reality but were quickly surprised to see that it was in fact better than any photo could capture. The exclusive roof deck was where we enjoyed cocktails the first night and it truly was the best view of Tulum. The beach frontage was pristine and it truly felt like an oasis. The manager Diego made sure to make himself available at all times and even offered to bring his own paddle board for us to enjoy for the day. Antonia was also amassing and made sure that our needs were taken care of. Bernardo and the rest of the staff Also made sure we never had an empty drink. If I had to think really hard I do not think I could come up with one negative about this experience. We visited in January of 2022 and everything was perfect. If there was one thing you take from this review it is that do not be tainted by other people! We tried to find anything wrong with this place but came up short every time. I will most certainly come back here again and throughly encourage anyone considering to come here and you will not regret it! And no I did not get paid to write this review, I just was overwhelmed with satisfaction I felt it was my duty...

This hotel is under rated in my opinion. Before even arriving to the hotel we had received 2emails from the hotel to see what they can assist with making our stay better. As we arrived we were greeted by a amazing staff at the front chic lobby. The gentlemen helping bring in our bags making us feel right at home. We strolled down to the bar on the beach to have our first lunch with some complimentary drink (so refreshing). Rocha who during our whole stay was constantly making sure we was enjoying our stay and making sure we would get the best deals for places we wanted to visit. The staff from bar tender, waiters, security, manager, cleaning lady all very attentive and what I liked the most is they all WORK TOGETHER. If you needed anything it was very easy to ask anyone and all assisted with no problem and did it with a loving heart. We walked the beach and did notice something not 1 hotel had security staff at night by the beach. On other hand Hotelito Azul sure did have someone watching the premises at all times. We felt safe in our resort. We had breakfast every morning and some days lunch and dinner and of course lots of drinks. DELICIOUS the food wow!!! soooo soooo soo good. The beach is always clean as well as the resort. The room was cleaned every day I loved that every morning when you open the door fresh coffee in a basket was there for you. Small things like that and a small who smiles at you and ask how you are doing, how was your day or is there anything I can assist you with goes a long way. I promise you this when we plan a trip back to Tulum no questions asked we will be staying again at Hotelito Azul once again. The location is perfect this is a prime place to stay with the best SERVICE and STAFF. it was so hard to say goodbye on our last day. We didn't want to go that's how amazing it was for us. I congratulate all the staff, Managaers and who ever is the Owner you should be Extremely proud of the staff you have.

wishful wishing I was in Tulum at Hotelito Azul doing this review then my office....

Thank you for making all my dreams of Tulum come true with an AMAZING stay.

So if you ask me how was the room: Amazing comfortable, clean and the shower and bathroom I love oh and yes the VIEW

Food at resort: to die for better then eating at the so call top restaurants on strip you are better off eating at the hotel that's how good the food is.

Drinks/ Roof top bar or beach bar.. YUM YUM from natural juices to cocktails.

Staff: AMAZING best staff I have ever encounter with.

Thank you Hotelito Azul Staff & Rocha for making our stay a memorable one and one too look forward in coming back.
