Los Morros Tulum — Restaurant in Quintana Roo

I got a table for 2. We got scammed here. Thought our bill was going to come up to 450-ish pesos but when the bill arrived it said 1400.. the server had "recommended" a dish to us as a STARTER. He said pescado chicharron is the best. What he didn't tell us is that it was 1 KG OF FISH. We also ordered tacos before the fish had arrived. The dish this server had suggested us as an appetizer was enough to feed a small village!! Who on earth would suggest 1 kilogram of fried fish to 2 people ?!?! And then not stop them as they order more food not knowing they're about to get the fisherman's entire catch for the day. Seriously. Don't order that unless you're a party of 8. It was ridiculous. We ate 1/8 of it. It tasted like how turtle food smells. The server did not recommend the best dish. He recommended the most expensive item on the menu. And when we told him this, he smiled. I just want to know. WHO GOES OUT TO EAT A KILOGRAM OF FRIED FISH AS AN APPETIZER ? WHO? Why didn't he tell me slow down when I ordered tacos too.. my girlfriend has a tiny stomach did he think we're undercover world record eaters who compete at hot dog tournaments or something ? I don't understand. This will baffle me for months to come. Who the heck offers a couple on a date 1kg of fried fish as a starter.. that's 1.1 lbs each.. We were wanting to have some fried fish for dinner, the legitimate mojarra frita and we found it here!! Amazing fresh mojarra with a twist on how they served it. Also had the cheese taco stuffed with mushrooms and shrimp and octopus- delicious! And another entree I do not remember the name but was sweet with a hint of crunch. Really good food overall. The only detail is that we always go to Morros de Pueblo Zama but in recent weeks we have not had the pleasure of greeting our friend Erik who always serves us with good service, my brother caught up with him to greet him in Morros Pueblo and now that we went yesterday we did not I was in the branch.
