Operated by two women who clearly love the sport and the environment and befriend anybody who walks in their door. I reached out to Roxy in Spanglish and she was immediately supportive of my Spanish learning journey as well as my SSI Scuba specialty certifications and skill development. Between anecdotes of previous divers she's met in her shop, she nearly convinced me to try out Freediving. I eventually opted to complete my Perfect Buoyancy and Deep Diver courses with her. She immediately penned me down for the necessary dives to fit my schedule.
She checked in on my theory progress, fed me, reiterated how training would go once underwater, and even celebrated my birthday for me. Guada (who always had my equipment ready) joined Roxy and me for the last two dives — Cenotes Angelita y Pixan — each only fully explorable by those going deep, both uniquely beautiful. From my first dive with Roxy, she made sure to express pride in and encouragement for my current skills. She even allowed me to help reconfigure my regulator to add my dive computer's transmitter, and challenged me further than the buoyancy course calls for while diving Cenote Dos Ojos.
Thank you so much, Roxy and Guada, for welcoming me into your world, showcasing your vast knowledge, sharing your captures of our adventures, and being my family on a special day. I cannot recommend Get Wet Dive Shop enough; the energy and joy that they exude are contagious and guarantee an amazing diving experience and inspiring desire to...
Read moreHad a great dive with Karina the other day. It was my second DSD dive, so I already knew the ropes a bit, and was glad we were able to explore a bit more than we might have if I was completely new. I always felt completely safe and have no doubt she would be a fantastic instructor if it’s your first time out, or if you’re a pro. Unlike my first DSD dive in Bali, we actually fully used up both oxygen tanks, so it really felt like I was getting my money’s worth. The first dive in the cenote was cool, with a lot of interesting rock formations and some wildlife. The sea dive was great too, we saw a barracuda and some other interesting fish and cool coral and caves, but you can tell the reefs aren’t want they used to be. This is just the reality of pollution and climate change. Still 100% worth checking out. Looking forward to getting my open water certification here while...
Read moreActually, this dive shop should be given six stars. It is run by the energetic, extremely friendly, and very experienced diver named Roxy. In February 2024, I dived under her watchful eye in the submerged Dos Ojos cenote/caverns near Tulum. That dive was for me a very positive experience thanks to the beauty of the caverns and the great effort that Roxy put into that diving. If you are looking for sister-like attituded master diver, who is punctual, honest, funny, easy going, informative, always optimistic, and helpful, then call the Get Wet Dive Shop. In addition, interesting: during the whole dive event I never had a filling that it had been a paid event (which of course was), for, she never mentioned or even suggested it and acted as if that dive was just a great underwater adventure for both of us. Roxy is a subject or at the center of my...
