Terrible Service one of the staff short heavier set guy took our names said there was about 30min wait that was a lot shorter than we expected so we put our names down and left to explore a bit came back just a bit before the 30mins to ask if we were almost up the guy then told us it would be a bit longer. This time I wait by the main entrance at least another 15mins meanwhile I'm seeing people come in give there name he writes it down and then they get seated within 10 mins I brush it off as they were probably bigger group. But then a couple shows up he clearly takes their name as they weren't on the list and I again ask him if I have much longer this time he tells me my table is being cleaned up. At this point I was about ready to leave just by how many ppl were showing up and being seated before us. We wait another 15+ minutes and guess who gets seated before us the couple who walked in and had their name lower on the list. We wasted an hour of our time with this place. Purely disgusting treatment of a customers and disrespect of our time. Please don't waste your time look at the other reviews this place is mediocre at best. If you're looking for an amazing dinner go to Mestixa which is down the street or Bejuco restaurant both have super nice staff and food is some of the most memorable we...
Read moreWe extended our trip in Tulum a few hours just to try this restaurant. We were in a rush to catch the ado and had about 50 minutes to eat. Unfortunately, they didn't open at their advertised time and we had had to wait an additional 15 minutes. They also require you to wash your hands in their outdoor sink which is activated by tapping the spout rather than let us use our own sanitizer. We weren't aware of this policy and they moved us to the back of the line even though we were the first to arrive! (-1 star) Since we were one of the first to arrive, we were fortunate to be able to use their side room which has an AC! They have limited seating available. The staff was accommodating considering we had limited time and rushed our food and check. Their portion sizes are large and the prices are cheap (+1 star). I came for the arrachera and wasn't disappointed. We ordered onion rings, and the mixed grill. I wish we had more time to enjoy the food, but we were happy with the service for accommodating our...
Read moreA trip to Tulum is incomplete without dinner at Asadero. I have been enjoying the wonderful cooking, great atmosphere and friendly staff for many years. I have seen the place go from a tiny quint place with only a few tables where you brought your own bottle to the wonderful full service restaurant it is today. Everytime I come back I have seen it grow and was worried it might lose its charm or quality. If anything it has become more charming and the food is a good as ever. Even though it has tripled in size it still feels intimate and cozy. It is obvious the owner is passionate about his place. It has been lovingly and thoughtfully grown over the years. If this is your first trip go with the special arrachera it is delicious and you get to sample the best things. I would also recommend the queso fundido and some of the sausage. Go hungry because you will be full afterwards. You might want to make reservations or go early as its the go to place for locals and...
