RESTAURANTE BAJA CALIFORNA (La Península) — Restaurant in Quintana Roo

I was a bit disappointed by this buffet style restaurant. Mainly because I had very high expectations for the food at Xcaret after reading many reviews, however it is really hard to master a buffet when you are catering for large groups with different tastes. I decided to choose this place for my dining at Xcaret based on its location with very beautiful views of the ocean, outdoors seating, and being listed as a seafood buffet. They have two dining areas with two separate buffets, the large hall downstairs and the upper outdoor deck. I went upstairs and buffet options were slightly less compared to the main one downstairs. The buffet included some average quality seafood options and some other non-seafood like burgers, hotdogs, fried wings catered to some people who prefer those options. The service was very slow because they were busy and I had to remind the servers many times of my soft drink orders. Unfortunately we purchased a plus package and the food was not good n this specific restaurant. If all you want is a an amazing view and atmosphere then this is the place but food was not good. Because it’a open and at the edge of the beach wind the buffet style food gets cold and dry very quick. Burger Pattie’s we cold and hard the hot dogs where under cook tortillas for tacos were cold and hard, chips were stale, meats were and guisados were cold and dry.. the o my good were the fried plantains pineapple and watermelon. Only giving a 3 because the staff are hard working and dealing with rude people. They deserve you large gratuity if you happen to eat here. Otherwise we had a pretty poor experience at Excaret. If you love kids then have fun. We observed a kid take a baby turtle from the tank and use it like a fribeee. When I confronted the parent about his parenting skills all I got was the finger.
