We visited here what seems like a lifetime ago in March, before the current COVID-19 pandemic. El Rey is located right in the middle of the Hotel Zone in Cancun. While it is not the most famous or largest Mayan ruins, it is certainly the easiest to visit. In the Mayan history, this site is an early one, dating to around 250-600 AD and was occupied right up until the Spaniards arrived in the 15th Century, when it was abandoned. Read moreWe came from California orange county and first thing we wanted to do as a adventure is go to Xcaret it was so much fun swimming in the underground rivers and watching the night show. Highly recommend you get there super early by 9-10am and stay all day till the famous night show ends which will start at 7pm and end at 9pm. You will get very tired of walking and leave super exhausted but well worth staying and enjoying everything Xcaret has to offer. Also recommended paying the extra and get the xcaret plus to get your choice of access for 1 buffet entry at any restaurant that xcaret has inside I believe their are 5-6 restaurants...
