Read moreI was amazed by the food there, one of the best I ever ate. But there is a few things it really spoilt the experience. I was Coba guest. I still had 6 other ala carte bookings to use at any restaurant.
First of all, the booking process - nearly impossible to book a table even 1,2 weeks in advance, I was checking every single day, few times a day as I wanted to come so badly as I love seafood - I didn't come on holidays to check my phone like a maniac, I actually wanted to stay off the phone as much as I could. I actually got my table on the same day afternoon because of last minute cancellation.
2nd Once I was there on thursday evening between 7- 9 pm I realised half of the seats were empty - big and small tables, while food on the Buffet was full as hell.
3rd When I asked to get me for another booking I was told we are ofcourse... fully booked BUT if you buy a bottle of wine you can actually just walk-in any day we are open at any time - seriously? Are you freaking joking?
4th Anybody you ask reception or guest service or whoever - nobody wants to be "in charge", in other words everyone you go to regarding that impossibilility to book a table there each of this person is blaming the other department but never themselves.
5th When I was booking a table for next time I had to choose a bottle of wine. I chose the cheapest and I said exact name of the wine. But still receptionist "mistakenly" started writting the name of one the most expensive wines - don't tell me you want me to believe it was a genuine mistake. When I cancelled 5 min later she laughed at my face.
Once the truth hit me hard how it REALLY works even though I truly enjoyed it, Im not sure if I want to go back there. - That or tipping their staff is the last thing on...
Read moreThis restaurant has major management and operational issues, and honestly blant food. This is based on two visits almost 6 weeks apart and honestly a parody of a Brazilian place - I was so disappointed the 2nd time and skipped my 3rd booking
Notably: the place is severely understaffed even though the most popular in the resort. Most of the staff is moving like disoriented birds, sitting is always late, and food is either over-cooked and under cooked. Overall service is slow and not attentive
Once you sit at the table, server comes late and largerly does not explain the rules. Then you put order and you grab your entrée and big wait begins....multiple guests look around confused...your card turned green or red does not influence anything. Your plate stays empty most of the times, and it seems servers are instructed not to put enough for guests....
Chicken legs seem the best, along with beef eye of the round (fillet mignon), and NY steak,... the veggies plate that came both times were undercooked and tasted like 3D printed (more for visual but not for taste). You are better off grabbing something on buffet
Both of the times I asked for some Jabanero sauce - server just smiled and didn't bring anything....in Mexico the land of chilly I found that travesty of exponential order...fancy that...
Overall, major miss where this could have been a great place, but compared to the other restaurants in the Bahia complex, it seems to be a victim of its success.
P.S. The only thing I find distinctive is the drink in the photo that I don't...
