We probably would have appreciated the place more if their employee didn't spout an amount for the seats, food and drink then ask if we wanted to pay before or after so we pay him before and confirm beforehand by repeating back what he said, and he affirms the price includes the food & drink, then comes back and charges us the same amount the 2nd time after saying thecfirst price was the seating not the food. It's the exact same price, too. So we paid double and I'm sorry but that experience was not worth what he shanked us for. Not sure what game they were playing, but his sleazy security guy was suddenly standing nearby as the shakedown took place. The food was fast food quality, and the theft was real. We paid and left knowing we were being ripped off. Poor way to run a tourism gig. I had even tipped him well when he had me pay first, and before knowing what he was up to. Wonderful experience at Blue Kay. The beach setting is perfect, very relaxed beach front dining. Service was incredible. Everyone was so attentive, friendly and polite. Their food is homestyle Mexican. Not fancy but most definitely delicious and prices are more than reasonable. We started with their homemade chips and guac. Ordered another round because I couldn't stop eating it. Husband had the mixed grill fajitas. Tender meat and veggies that had a nutty, pepper flavor. Fantastic! I had the mahi tacos. Not ecological at all. They serve in single-use plastics which you can see everywhere on the beach and inside the sea. No proper trash separating nor recycling. Extremely loud music from 9am to 9pm (it sounds like a non-stop spring break party for gringos from the 90s) weather it is full or empty. Impossible to lay down in peace and quietness. Other people just throw the trash on the ground and ultimately pollute the coral barrier, local flora and fauna.
